@toccio94 Thank you for your feedback! I'm glad you liked the game and got so far into the boss as well!
I pretty much agree with everything you said about the controls and difficulty, haha. We wanted to make more projectile patterns, but didn't have the time to playtest them thorougly enough, so a lot of them ended up being really difficult. Oops.
The controls weren't really iterated on at all either, we just kinda tried something and stuck with it, lol. Still not quite sure what kind of a control scheme would have worked the best...
We should have definitely implemented a grace period for the dash so you could still decide the direction a short time after dashing, but didn't think of it at the time.
Lesson learnt!
(You were really, really close to finishing the game, btw!)
Most satisfying virtual forklift I've ever driven!
That being said, there was a lot of empty space where you're just kinda driving around with no real challenge. Dunno if there was a fail state at all in the game. I'd love to see that forklift in a more action-packed environment!
Art was great and I quite liked the controls as well. I don't think I've ever seen an isometric platformer from a jam before. Loved the effects on attacks!
I wish the levels (especially at the start) had some more open space to ease players into it. Overall I really liked the general feel of the game, but was really put off by the fact that every jump needed to be pixel perfect due to most pathways being single-tile wide. Felt like I needed a breather between every tough jump, but was immediately faced with another one.
Would love to play a more action-focused version of this!
Great visuals and sound that all meld together for a cohesive experience.
Actual gameplay was a bit weird, because you end up not using the main mechanic for a minute, then doing a single, safe, small jump with your passengers to fill up most of your fuel. Then you just inch your way forward for another minute. I spent more time braking than actually tossing passengers around. The low friction and high amount of gas made it so I didn't feel like throwing the passengers for fun if I wanted a really high score.
That being said, the idea for the game is in itself really fun! If I had to throw passengers around more frequently it would be a 5/5 from me!
