LD38 — A Small World

Alchemist's Prison by Max Amaden 2017-05-01T15:19:10Z

The atmosphere is really great. (The sound is immersive, the graphics are neat). Gameplay is fun for a good while, but the lack of an increasing difficulty and having to make the same potion several times in a row made it a little repetitive. I also didn't find what you could spend those coins on?

Apart from those notes it was overall a very good game. Great job :D

Great job. I personally do not enjoy narrative experiences, but overlooking my own taste of games.. It was simply a very good little game. The voice acting and is great, the atmosphere is cozy and the mechanics were quite fun n easy to understand.

Even though the game was a minute long, I still enjoyed it a lot for what It was. The models/environment were very satisfying to look at too. Good job :)

Apart from having trouble grabbing ledges, it was a very creepy and interesting game. The music and day/night cycles really added to the atmosphere, and the creatures actually scared me the first time I encountered them.

Overall good work :D

The pixel art is neat. However, I found the overall experience very confusing. The level design and trees blocking various paths prevented me from finishing the second level after the first cutscene. I found various exploits that enabled me to get past these trees mentioned above, but still didn't find the end of the level.

The idea of the game is pretty great, it looked super fun at first glance. However, controlling where you wanted your paint to end up was very frustrating since the paintbrush was flipping all over the place. I started using the paintbrush as a slingshot in the end which worked pretty well though. It could also have been much better if there was some form of indication on the enemies as a hint for the player about what color to choose against that specific enemy.

However, it's a very good idea and I can clearly see the potential in it! Reminds me a bit of splatoon!
