Sick theme, style, atmosphere, and music. I did encounter a bug where once the skeleton was killed, it didn’t despawn and stood still, killing the run. Upgrades strewn throughout the room are awesome and make movement and gameplay progressively more enjoyable (though as you mentioned, due to not being able to balance much, the game was quite difficult organically). While I would have liked to have some sort of reticle (even just a dot to show where I was aiming), not having one does add that layer of challenge - I whiffed a lot of shots and had to keep recorrecting which is cool in its own way. Receiving damage could use more of an indicator; the small sound effect that plays when you get hit is dwarfed by the BGM and your shooting sounds. I’d be too focused trying to hit my shots that I wouldn’t notice my HP was critically low. Otherwise, loved the main menu screen as it lends itself to the type of game I was getting into, as well as the “story”. Really cool, rockin’ out game with a solid foundation.

Amazing game both visually and mechanically. The music fit very well into the relaxing theme and allowed me to sit back while relax while choosing my tiles. The encyclopedia on the tiles could have a little point in the right direction on how to unlock the final tiles, but the variety of combos and surprise unlocks, especially in the beginning was really cool. Incredible work given the time, well done!

Harvestigator: An IRS Tax Auditing Game by crow_seeds 2023-01-10T07:49:30Z

Humour was on point! And once I got the flow of moving the sheets around and knowing where to look, I really stepped into the shoes of a friendly neighbourhood IRS-man. Bravo, extremely solid game!

Really enjoyed my time with this one! The pace of the game feels good, and the punishment of losing half of your stock if you die feels fair and not too punishing. An issue however is the constant cursor on the screen that indicates where you'll dash to; it kept disorientating me when I got it and my own cursor mixed up sometimes. I do like that it turns red to show that your dash is on cooldown though. Hitboxes were also a bit hard to gauge with some enemies (especially the hard hitting zombies). A bit more of an indicator when you take damage (either sound or visual) would of been good, as I found it harder to tell when I've taken damage especially once the vampire's skeletons were thrown in the mix (the skeleton's death sound made me thought I was getting hit every time haha..) The sound design and style of the game is awesome, easy on the eyes and ears. The enemy variety was also really well done and each raised the stakes respectively. I found myself rushing to the door some rounds when I was getting overwhelmed which got the heart going a bit! Overall really good stuff!
