LD30 — Connected Worlds

Godshunter by Mr. Chelnoque 2014-08-26T14:30:00

Enjoyed playing your game even though I still don't know what's the weak point of the damn thing : ) Art and music = rather cool.

Is the harpoon dude supposed to be immune to the tentacle strike?

Just before I lost at one point, the game wouldn't let me do anything for about 20 seconds. Could be a bug.

Ormington Chomost Calling by DesignerNap 2014-09-11T00:48:00

Great fluff but found the telephone minigame too annoying. Really loved everything else.

Is Ormington supposed to be Oprington?

Connector by TeamEagle 2014-08-26T15:10:00

This is excellent. Everything does what it's supposed to. If this game was a transaction, it would be a smoooothhhh one.

How to Adventure by brogrammers 2014-08-27T22:00:00

Like the visual style. Characters are cute.

Dark Worlds by Torandi 2014-08-26T21:23:00

I like the whole boss fight(s) only idea but I think the dodge/roll mechanic is superfluous in the current build. The boss is simply too slow to necessitate any rolling around or running. I killed the poor bastard just by walking around him and using light attack. Though it may, of course, be different with a 360.

Also music started doing the skipping record routine about 2 minutes in. Not sure if intentional.

Heaven from Hell by Wevel 2014-08-27T21:42:00

Well done submitting your first game. Maybe adding a plot line could make the exploration more interesting.

In My Garden by MercuryLegba 2014-08-30T11:27:00

Had a lot of beer and died. 10/10, would die again.

Inner Self by Cstudios 2014-08-27T21:54:00

You've definitely chosen a very interesting topic and it would be interesting if you could explore it further. The inertia was a bit too powerful at times and the end level messages a bit condescending. Would be cool to see where this goes.

Starpiercer by Schrodinger Games 2014-09-07T11:11:00

Was Really Big Sky an inspiration for this game?

Thank you for your comments, critique and praise! They are much appreciated.

Here are a couple of quick points/replies:

1) The file is most definitely not a virus. I get a false positive on roughly the third of every game I downloaded from LD. Be not afraid!
2) The music at the end is Jupiter, the Bringer of Jollity by Gustav Holst and we had no intention to make you think that we wrote it : ) Our apologies to anyone who may have thought otherwise and to Gustav's 110 year old corpse.
3) The planets do not move randomly. Their speeds are in fact constant. What probably creates the feeling that their movement is random for some of the players is the fact that we don't give you any of the numeric values (neither the speeds nor the distance of their orbits). This is by design. We don't want the player to solve the puzzle by coming up with a formula.
4) Yes, the game is fairly short though getting all the planets to line up is not an easy task. You can get three planets lined up in less than 2 minutes and "win" the game. Again, done so by design since we're treating this more as a functional proof of concept than an actual full game.
5) If you are confused about the controls or the aim of the game, please refer to the instructions in the description and the tutorial video next to the download link.

Thank you for playing Galacto's Intolerant!

Having a background that is not just a uniform colour could help with manoeuvring in space. Speed is impossible to perceive unless you're zoomed out so much that you can't see your ship.
