LD43 — Sacrifices must be made

Space Safe by MrTroy 2018-12-13T02:17:07Z

Clean menu and presentation up front. Moving around as a twin stick shooter but using WASD was way harder than I assumed it would be. Nice audio throughout the experience. I would make some type of scrolling background as I couldn't tell how fast I was going during longer treks. Nice asteroid theme :)

The Cave God by pranjalbisht 2018-12-13T02:42:06Z

A nice enjoyable few minutes trying out different things to get weird dialogue. I don't think the theme was fully realized here. Sacrifices must be made implies intent that you shouldn't have to get ride of something usefully but in order to progress to must. Sacrificing the light orbs did this well, but everything else felt like trash I was supposed to get ride of. All in all, a nice felt delivered 2D story.

No Step Back by Zetorama 2018-12-13T02:31:21Z

Oh boy it was not easy to see the bullets. Plus my guys wouldn't always run when I pressed space. The idea is cool, a simple survival game. I don't think it reaches the theme of this game jam. Sacrifices must be made implies that as a player I should lose something in order to progress. This felt more like sacrifices are going to happen, but it doesn't matter. Cool look and a TD feel always get me to try it out, so you got me.

Didn't know what was going on, cant read the text or understand if I was supposed to do what I did. Didn't care at all cause I punched out a sheep then tossed him to over the fence WWE style and then watched as he got eaten. 10/10

I do have to say that while the controls were a bit hard to understand, I like the idea of trying new ways to affect gameplay. I did notice that which balls moved seemed to be tied to something, but I couldn't find a pattern. Models looked good for something done in this time frame. If you are truly new to Unity then keep on it. You got some good sense rolling around.
