LD40 — The more you have, the worse it is

I like the way you chose to tackle the theme, making the player decide whether they want to take their chances with bringing up more artifacts for mor points, or play it safe by bringing just a few. The climbing also feels really nice, I particularly liked the way the impulse gun affected the platforming elements of the game. Also good job on the ability to hang on to edges as I feel like this game would have been really frustrating without that.

I feel like the artifact mechanic needs a few changes to really shine though. The biggest problem I had was the fact that they didn't duplicate in your inventory, just made them a bit tedious to deal with. It was also a bit into my first run that I realised that I should have brought multiple artifacts with me and then just thrown them to get them all with me. If you could maybe make it so that the player is carrying the artifact in their hands or something just to make that a bit more clear.

This is a small and cute game, and I like the overall idea of playing as a house cat trying to survive in a house alone with a "small human". I also like the overall feel of the game, as it seems that you tried to make it feel very light and cute, which you succeeded in (Although, the sound effect for devouring mice is a bit gruesome and out of place).

Some feedback would be that if you want to extent the games life before the player gets bored, then there should be some more obstacles, and maybe a more extensive movement system for the cat, adding more than just the ability to walk and eat.

I also feel like the game could benefit a lot from making the house larger and maybe adding a bit of an element of exploration around the house, making the player able to look through cupboards to find more food and stuff like that.

All in all, I like the feel of the game but find the games mechanics a bit lacking, but for the time you had you did a good job with this.

Get Rich or Sink by Time Loop 2017-12-05T18:17:34Z

I like the aesthetics and idea of the game, and I actually quite like the boat controls (the turning speed is a bit slow though), however, to me, the game seems oddly slow-paced, which doesn't work that well with your "You are quickly sinking" mechanic. If you added more enemies closer to the hub area and upped the overall pace of the game I think it could quickly become a lot more fun to play for extended periods of time. Either that or you could play around with different ways to handle the ships sinking speed, maybe add more areas where you can buy/sell things to get lighter or something. But still, the game feels great, and I really like the setting, good job.

Thank you to all of you for all the great feedback! We are really happy that so many liked our game concept and will look into if we want to add more to the game.

A lot of you seem to have a problem with the general combat, which I know I also found a bit wonky and lacking at times, we did have plans to create more kinds of abilities and attacks and an upgrade system, but we sadly didn't have the time. But it's definitely something we will do if we do continue working on the game. We also know that there are a couple of pretty noticeable bugs, like the fact that you can walk partway of the islands, which we also just haven't had time to fix yet.

But thank you to all of you for playing (and hopefully enjoying) our game! It means so much to us to have other people from around the internet playing something we have created.

@jushiip The reason we didn't add music was simply that neither of us has any experience with music (and just sound in general) and that we didn't have enough time to do even if we did. But you are right, if we do continue working on this game music should definitely be a high priority. But I do hope you enjoyed what we did have time to make! Thank you for your feedback.

Cool little thing to relax with, I like the noise reduction mechanic, it's oddly satisfying to reduce the noise as much as possible. It would be cool if you added more levels and a couple of variations with how the squares interact, maybe a couple of different shapes like a triangle and a circle which interact with the noise in different ways, but yeah, cool little thing.

The Cult of Refrigodrator by mochakingup 2017-12-05T19:58:59Z

Love the art and atmosphere! While the music is good the game still feels a bit silent without sound effects. I also feel like the game could really benefit a lot from more player feedback, an example would be things like when you or your cult members take damage it's not really that clear, or when your cult members are about to turn into demons. It also feels like the cult members need just a bit too much food and it's very difficult to get many members.

But other than that this is good, I'm really impressed by the atmosphere you were able to create in such a short amount of time.

Like the time traveling mechanic and how you have to use it sparsely to not get overwhelmed, I had a problem where my player was pushed off the screen but other than that it works really well.

It would be cool if you could improve the pacing of the game though, I know that it's supposed to go faster if you use the time travel a lot, but it felt a bit too fast, plus it would be nice if the game just generally went slower at the start. But cool game, I could easily see it as a fully released app for your phone at some point.
