a legionnaire who thinks the gun is jupiter's thunder, ha. blocking bullets with the shield is a good mechanic, but while strafing i couldnt tell which way the shield was facing. a small arc showing it would fix that. visually still very bare

Visually very simple, but everything is there and it’s functional. though the game remains difficult. Movement, in particular, isn't easy to get the hang of. I think there’s room for improvement! :)

Simple game, but everything works quite well! The controls feel good, and the gameplay is fun. I think a few more movement options, especially some faster ones, would make it even more enjoyable. Nice little entry!

Super tough game! Loved the idea of the story. Thanks for sharing

Nice idea letting the player run around with old tech into modern weaponry.

This was really tough for me, but fair enough — fighting against more advanced weapons shouldn’t be easy :)

Nostalgic! Reminds me Combat for Atari 2600

Whoa that RC-style relative motion PLUS the absolute mouse-facing was a mind-twister. That combined with the one-shot insta-death and full-restart made this game really high stakes. The shield is incredibly powerful, but one tiny mistake and you're done for... and it's really easy to make a fatal mistake if you twist up which button to press for even one moment.

Proceeding carefully I was able to defeat 11 enemies. I probably would have played longer, except the game sends me all the way back to the very start. That was okay the first few times, but eventually disheartened me. I find in jams when I'm only going to spend a short time with a game, I prefer that it be lenient and show me more of its scope rather than ask me to repeat the early game over and over, but that's just my taste.

This all comes together well, though. The game is a simple arrangement of pretty bare elements, but imo everything works together to create a complete experience and produces a specific high-stakes vibe, so nice work! Every time I died I absolutely felt like it was my fault and I knew why, which is great in a game with harsh consequences.

What a cool concept, The game would really shine with some better graphics, or maybe something like a bigger custom campaign levels could be also cool. But i still really enjoyed the game!

A really cool but tough game. The controls are not easy to manage, but its the toughness that makes it so enjoyable.

A good game; I enjoyed taking down enemies and using a shield to defend against them. Despite what others have said about the controls being awkward, I didn’t find them particularly difficult.
