The controls were smooth and the game was easy to understand! I had a bit of a hard time with the extra controls for unlocked powers but maybe I just suck. Awesome work!

Very cool, very reminiscent of some arcade classics. Some music would have given it that real final touch, but overall very fun.

PS - Your game description say this is for LD55

had fun trying the mechanics of balancing whether or not to stay middle or more top-side of the screen. I think adding some audio even if it was free assets wouldve helped a bit for repeated play.

I love that this jam reignited your game dev passion! I know the feeling well - Somehow working 30+ hours in a weekend makes me realize how much I love building games :)

I had a lot of trouble surviving past the first obstacle, so I'm not sure if I was missing something or if I was just bad 😅 I didn't feel like I had enough time to react because of how low on the screen I was, but I might have just been totally missing a crucial control. If there's something I'm missing, I want to come back and give things a try again, so let me know!

Congratulations on surviving and finishing your first jam! :)

Random error popup: TypeError: Cannot set properties of null (setting 'onclick'). But game ran anyways.

Thought restart was broken, wasn't clear that I had to click that button.

Definitely would love some sound effects. Even just recording your voice. But like the sprites.

Nice! Turns out I shouldn't go base jumping if my skill here is any representation of it. Art is cool, restarting was a little finicky I had to click it didn't seem like I could use my keyboard, (and I restarted a lot XD). Nice work!

@koolruz Thanks for the detailed feedback! I was away sorting out some personal stuffs but I showed this to my irl friends and noticed there were two problems: 1. Yeah it's kinda too hard in retrospect, given more time I'd add some difficulty curves between levels. 2. There was a screen size problem with Unity WebGL that I missed, it might cause a smaller screen space hence little time to react.

Not sure whether it's allowed to upload a fixed version rn but I'll fix them. Again I really appreciate the feedback! Also love your game!

@hb10001 That WebGL issue sounds like it might be what I was running into! Here's a screenshot of how it looks on my end

bottom-of-screen.PNG

It's up to you if you want to upload a fixed version! From [the rules](https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/rules), you're allowed to make bugfixes as long as you highlight them in a changelog, or you could could mark it as a post-jam build.

> Certain Bug Fixes are allowed. You can’t add new features, but if something broke or didn’t work correctly as you were finishing up, you can fix this after the deadline. You are asked to highlight the changes you make in your submission (a short change log). You probably wont get a 2nd chance with some players, but at least it wont be a problem for future players.

I am a bit superstitious about uploading a bugfix version myself ("What if I break something else!"), so I always just keep my pencil down after I get my game uploaded, but if the screen size is breaking the intended experience, I think it makes sense for you to upload the fixed version!

And thank you for the kind words! :)

great game.

@koolruz You should be able to move up to the top of the screen with W, I had problems with the arrow keys working (and gave up running in Firefox, switched to Chrome)

Thanks for making, was fun to play, think a gentler difficulty ramp would be nice but an accomplishment for sure! Some real quick SFX would add a lot!

koolruz 2025-04-20 17:55

@liam That was the issue, thanks! I was using the arrow keys, not WASD

Using WASD let me progress a lot further, and I really liked the way that enemies and additional powers were introduced over time! :)

Interesting game, I like the risk vs reward mechanic in choosing to fall and giving yourself some space to dodge obstacles and enemies. It took me a bit to figure out I could defeat enemies with my dash because I might've dashed into a bullet and thought that meant I couldn't dash into enemies...

It's fun! I wish it weren't silent though...
