Cute visuals and I like the idea, but having a hard time progressing past the start. Building a few little buildings on the hexes next to my starter hex, then nothing happens. Not sure if I'm missing a control to progress Dawn/Dusk or something. The building menu is easy and well done.

First of good game, it is fun to play and has some dificulty to it. I am just going to advice you that you submit the fixes as you are still allowed to fix buggs as long as you do not add additional functionallity to the game. Also the repairmen from the vilages are flying, maybe ground them they should fix my stuf and not have their heads in the clouds ;)

I wasnt really sure what to do beyond placing some towers. It also tool me a while to realise I could place certain towers. I felt pretty helpless most of the time. I really like seeing the little guys walk around. I wasn't able to figure out why there was a player character. I did end up winning in the end, but I dont really understand what happened. I liked it though!!

I had some problems with the screen not fitting correctly. Couldn't see most of the paper on the right side.

WOW I started playing three times and was able to get completely comfortable with the game. It was a pleasant time. I liked the mechanics of the game and how you gradually become better. The most important thing is that the enemy does not allow you to relax at the beginning, forcing you to think about how best to act. There is a balance: don’t win right away. It was a nice victory!
Thanks for the kind words, @srslie! Did you have a parchment to the right with the current day, time and treasury amount? If so, there should have been a "Start" button that switches from build mode. There are some scaling issues that make the UI not appear fully in some cases. It'd be helpful to know if that's what you were seeing. Start button to transition from dawn/dusk to day/night
Thanks for the bug report and advice, @prepe! In terms of the GUI scaling issues, we haven't figured that out yet. It's a problem we sometimes see using Babylon.js. We'll keep working at it!
@willby thanks for the comments! We really needs some in-game help/instruction, but we ran out of time (as always), so it ended up only in the LD description. To answer your question: The PC mage can double the production speed of the buildings they're standing near (within the glowing ring). boosting.png
@afi-olya  Congrats on your victory and thank you for the kind words!
Great game! I like the mechanic of slowly expanding your domain and getting more resources and becoming more effective at defending as a result. Was able to win on June 4th. Well done!
Actually scratch that, the game was so fun that I played once more and was victorious on June 2nd  Снимок экрана 2024-04-18 005529.png
After about 15 minutes I think I figured out how the game is supposed to be played, and it is pretty fun.
I think villages get more powerful the larger your base because they heal all buildings equally, so 3 villages created a swarm of repairers to top everything off. The main puzzle seems to be knowing what order to build in, that a sawmill is worth most when placed closest to home, and roads can tank damage the cheapest.
Besides adding building descriptions in-game, being able to pan the camera while paused would be nice too, otherwise I cannot build sawmills in the bottom-left corner to be safer. That's a pretty minor concern though, because if I am placing a sawmill that far away I either messed up, or I have lived past the first 2 turns and victory is already certain. Having multiple level options could be nice too, this game jam entry feels like a boss fight when coming in as a new player and maybe staring the game without summoning buildings to just start taking damage without a way to attack as the hero. Maybe some starting roads to soak damage would be a way to make the start easier, and give the player time to realize they are in danger. But with how strong villages can heal, that might be too much of a boost.
The 3D art is adorable, it made me want to zoom in to see the units closer.
