the core idea is pretty cool for a top down shooter! i felt the roll didn't add much when engaging in combat. it didn't feel like combat did much since enemies despawn kinda quick anyway. more tension between shooting and delivering would be nice! i like the enemy art too
Kind of addictive for a simple game!! I liked the whole ammo mechanic, but felt the whole a little unforgiving. Some pre shoot animation for the enemies would've been amazing, got surprise shot a LOT.
It was a little bit goofy to figure out how to start the game but once I stopped looking for a start button and realized I had to pick up the package and place it, I was rolling. The game was decent after that, could have used a lot more ammo though.

Haha yeah I was confused for a couple minutes looking for a start button, I didn't think that dropping the box in the portal was it! I didn't run in to ammo issues though, I actually ended up with too much as you get it just by moving the boxes to get score. Cool idea.

@sarah-pederson Enemies actually don't despawn, probably they were just hit by bullets from other enemies. Also, I definitely cannot take credit for the character assets (that's why I opted out from the art rating :smile:)
@resacagames Yes that's a great idea. Pre shoot animation would definitely be the thing I add next.
@larrymartinjr @khaokg I regret removing the text that says the portal would start the game to avoid overlap with the keybind settings :face_palm: As for the ammo, I'm actually glad to see both cases: do you wish to get ammo to survive easier, or are you willing to risk it all for the points? It does need better balancing though I agree.

Cool game, love the main mechanic of balancing carrying boxes to get ammo and also defending yourself. Feel the bullets could be a bit speedier maybe, at least the player's. Graphics could have used a bit more work I think, but just the character themselves have a nice style to them. Good job!

The idea is very good! I found the game very fun! The truth is that I would love one. My only recommendation is to add a little more detail to the map and, in my opinion, put in music and special effects even if you don't opt for it. Apart from this, I can only congratulate you, I think it's a great game and a lot of fun. The Post Jam version is very polished but... I want more! Great game!
I liked the deliver vs. use ammo mechanic. The single health point is pretty brutal, but at least you can shoot enemy bullets out of the air. The post jam update fixed my issue with always placing the box out of the circle and added random explosions that forced some movement, which was cool. The sound design was pretty lacking and the bullets sound pretty lame and quiet, but it's hard to fit sound design into the jam.
