@efilheim Thanks, yeah I plan on finishing this properly and adding more to it.
Love the art style and overall feel of the game. The music is pretty good too. Also I am not sure what inspired the name of the characters but the fact that there is a character called Orangeslice who is quite literally an orange slice is quite hilarious. Really excited to see where this game goes, I'll keep an eye on your itch page.
I always enjoyed old adventure games as a kid and i think that if you had like a free roam system with many locations and interactions with the characters and maybe some items like the old indiana jones games would be very fun to play. The writing is very good and i like the potential concept of the game. You should rate some games, the algorithm will help you more.
@kostas-nik Alright, thanks for the advice, Will do so. The free roam system I'm thinking about, but not entirely sure yet, I need to see how much the full game will change, it might work well with it.
Loved the characters, story, and menuing. The UI was so good. I wish there was more! Did you make this in SDL2? Nice work!
Cool start!
If I could give some amateurish opinions on the writing (please take with some salt) it feels like I could use a better introduction to the "who" of the characters before all of the comedic exposition. Not necessarily their entire backstory, but more like...a very short "why do I care" or "setup" that helps me associate what I'm learning about them through their dialogue. Right now I feel like I'm dropped in cold -- which is fine for me, plotwise -- but it feels like I'm confused as to who is who and what I'm supposed to be getting out of their conversations. Maybe that's also just an artifact of the minimalist UI/art style (which I think is cool!), or maybe this line of humor just didn't hit the mark with me. Or perhaps it was because their banter seemed equally sarcastic on both ends? Just my 2c!
Oh no, it's gone!! :see_no_evil: I share your pain of not being able to finish the story - still think you managed to wrap it up neatly. I had to play it a second time, to see what else I could do during the interactive parts - gotta say I was surprised to see that you added side content too
All in all, a really well-executed game, with wonderful soundscape, neat animations and art style (love the old-school computer ui). And all the characters seemed to have an interesting dynamic! Well done - I'll be back for the entire thing!
