Actually really like this game. It could use just the simplest of menus so you can adjust the sound before bring thrown in the game.

Other than that though this is a fun idea, switching between defending in building is pretty fun even with these limited upgrades. This would be super cool if you had a ton of building and different recources you could produce each "turn".

I also like the simple but expressive visuals, good job.

This is a very interesting game. I really like it!!! Lovely graphics, enjoyable music, and easy to understand gameplay. However, as the hints say, it is particularly tiring to play and my fingers kept tapping without a break. So I wish there was a pause function afterwards. Also, I would like to ask you to adjust the values so that new players can at least pass the game safely. The graphics and music relaxed me a lot, and the monsters and protagonist were surprisingly cute! I hope you can add a tutorial to help players quickly understand the objectives! Thank you for creating this!

Simple game, nice graphics and art, gameplay was simple, plus, the game menu screen doesn't pause the game, so you could keep going even though it is supposed to be game over. This in turn means that enemies can just be seen flying in town. pretty hard game baring the bug.

Quite addictive, nice effort!

Nice game, really hurts your index finger :joy: Great idea and good execution, very nice music, art and sound design. However, at some point the game over screen pops up, without killing me or destroying all buildings. I can even keep playing behind the game over screen which is weird. But otherwise you guys did a great job on it, in such a short time

Hi, lived at round 6. Really crazy and I think I had to fix my finger. :joy_cat: Nice work!

Haha I've maxed everything! Clickers is one of my favorite, not often you can see here on ludum such games :D And yeah, I've almost killed my mouse, not my index index finger :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye: Thumbup for fish in goggles

Man thanks for the warning my index finger is gone :) But really nice and addictive game. more clicking for getting upgrades was a nice idea.

I had a lot of fun with this one! I love the illustrations, especially the little village with the buildings to upgrade. I think the player character blends in a little bit with the background, but the enemies are the most important things to see and they're very visible. Some animations for getting hit and dying, even basic particle effects, could go a long way in making your shots feel impactful (highly recommend watching "The Art of Screenshake" talk on YouTube if you have never seen it!).

The upgrades were fun and varied. The buildings even looked different as you upgraded them! I also like the way the camera shifted from the battlefield to the village between rounds.

From a gameplay perspective, I have two bits of feedback: - In my experience, it's almost never a good idea to limit player impact behind how fast you can mash a button. This is something that varies wildly between players and can hurt physically to do, especially if you don't get any breaks. There might be other ways to do upgrading, like limiting the rate of upgrades based on time, or having some minigame to upgrade (like something that requires timing). - I've also found that having bullet speed as an upgrade often isn't super fun. It usually doesn't make *that* much difference in gameplay, but it feels a lot better to have fast bullets, so slowing them down for the "unupgraded" state often makes the gameplay less responsive. I generally prefer to keep bullet speed pretty fast and have upgrades like fire rate, bullet damage, number of enemies they can pass through, shrapnel/explosions, etc. But this is also just a personal opinion, so your mileage may vary!

You did a lot right with the gameplay; I liked that the enemies had fast-and-weak ones and slow-and-strong ones. The fact that you had to craft bullets was interesting, and I really like the fact you gave the player infinite weak bullets once those ran out --- it's inoptimal, but doesn't just strand the player if they don't prepare enough. My best run was round 18.

I'm not *entirely* sure what your protagonist is supposed to be, but I tried to draw them! I've added them to the fan art collage on [my profile.](https://ldjam.com/users/jeremy-ryan/)

Very nice and addictive game. Had a lot of fun, even before i notived you can build turrets. Well done!

hengen 2022-10-10 10:53

you were right about the index finger god damn! Also, the stress induced heart attack from the timer doesn't help either haha.

Good game, im a slow learner so i had to retry a couple times to get a grip on things

thiefaine 2022-10-13 17:56

my hand plz ... I almost quit without noticing you can upgrades the defenses I really had fun ! GG

georgy16 2022-10-16 11:54

Cool and interesting game!

bathpirate 2022-10-19 18:51

What a pity there is no web version :( From the screenshots looks just great!

saskle 2022-10-19 19:44

A very nice game, although it is really hard on your finger, haha! The visuals look great and the switching between upgrading the buildings and tower defense is a neat idea. Like others mentioned, I was able to continue playing when the the 'game over' popup appears - but that's what a game jam does I suppose!

muzakefron 2022-10-19 20:31

lovely game!!!! gets a little bit repetitive early on but the cute characters & charming graphics made it p fun!
