It's a cool game! I liked the graphics and the sfx were nice and impactful. I think you could tighten the pacing a bit. I assume I was eventually supposed to be overrun by the romans, but I was just chilling until I wandered away from the game.
Yeah the first artwork is very cool but the game himself are'nt very dynamic

I like the concept and the idea! I loved the font choice and the sound effects! I think adding some dead romans/blood effects would be really good! Other than that, it's a pretty good entry!

fun game, took me a second to figure out how to micro my character to swipe 2 enemies at once. i quickly learned to avoid the armored generals until i'm stronger.
had a lot of fun, awesome work has a good basis to go off of
Fun game! I liked that you can get a little bit tactical with how you move into enemies to take the least damage. The lifesteal was also welcome, it let the game be a little forgiving of some mistakes the player makes.
The introduction is super intense and moody. Really showing off how much mileage you can get out of text, music, and a few jpgs.
Looked really good. It would have been nice to be able to move diagonally.

There's a nice mood to the game, it's impressive how you managed to create a coherent art/audio style by using external resources ! Gameplay wise, I would have liked romans to come at me instead of moving without concern for me. Also, moving diagonally, swinging axe while moving and more permissive environment hitbox would be a nice addition to the game.
Good job :)
the art and visuals were very nice, but like some of these other comments have said, diagonal movement and being able to swing the axe while moving would've been nice.

Good job. The sprites looked good. I really wanted to chomp down those trees with my axe :) I think there needs to be diagonal movement.

Tiny game with solid loop! I was a little bit confused first that are all enemies spawned randomly and I just have to keep all of them lmao. Congrats!

Great job! The sprites look good and the story is very innovative. I do kind of wish the AI on the Romans had more aggro, as I would often stand right in front of one waiting for it to walk up to me so I could attack. Regardless, I really enjoyed playing!

very good and interesting idea of using the theme. the bird sounds add a lot to the atmosphere. also very nice graphics.

Thank you to all of you for reviewing my game and leaving feedback for me. I appreciate that you took time to do that. I wish I had had more time to add pathfinding to the enemies to make them more aggressive instead of moving randomly, but I had to spend the better part of one of the days repairing a brake line on my car. After the competition has concluded, I will make improvements to the game based on the feedback you all have provided to improve the experience.
Again, I want to thank you for contributing to the activity in my first game jam, you all helped to make this a great experience for me.
