I really liked the idea behind the gameplay, but a little extra instruction or explanation would be nice. I wasn't really sure how any of my actions were affecting the people. I also thought the idea of the delay behind actions was funny, but it can make the gameplay feel bad (if there were some animation to let you see your powers travelling I think it could help).

Overall, given that you ran out of time, this was a good conceptual start, and I can imagine the more developed final product would be very enjoyable.

This is a fun concept, and one that I could see expanded in a larger, more polished concept. As of right now, this game does suffer from a lack of polish, as it was hard to tell how long I was delaying, which would've help in planning attacks better. The graphics for are cute and simplistic, and the controls are very responsive (ironically, considering the whole delay thing). It was especially satisfying when I managed to target a lightning strike in a way that burnt down a majority of a settlement.

@manan Our plan for the next step is to have a document for ourselves and for players. I wanted to add instructions and animations to help players understand how this game works, sadly we ran out of time.

I never figured out a way to actually generate faith, though.

The delay between activating a power and it actually doing something was weird.

@proxy-games The controlling and delay is the effect I want to have, a conflict between giving out order or using ability quickly and letting them slowly happen. Making the delay more predictable and intuitive is on our plan.

I didn't really understand the game... When I click after selecting let's say a fire nothing seems to happen...

@raphaeltan Sorry about the confusion, we should have put this clear. This game wants your abilities to have a really long delay, range from 5s to 15s. The effect would be less direct for other abilities but for Fire it will burn down forest, farm, houses, and ruins.

@rialgar As you might notice, your abilities will change the land cubes. Different land cubes will provide + or - faith per second.

Hi everyone, V1.1 for Distance of Heaven is Now available. I noticed that most players didn't get how to play this game. I added some guides and descriptions to help getting better understand on how to play this game. Hopefully this is allowed. @manan @rialgar @proxy-games @raphaeltan I would be most appreciated if you could play this game again. Hopefully this time the experience will be better and clearer.

I see great potential and cool ideas here! Sadly there's too little game feedback to really feel like the player is doing anything for now. Really wish to see this game in its complete state o: (I played it before the update came out, so I might look into it again)

Maybe focus on the interactive rules and use minimalist representation will be fine and easy to prototype. Graphics is good and especially the cover, but not necessary for game jam.
