I mean... It's a finished game if nothing else, so good job on that.

As for feedback, the shooting SFX is very jarring, at least adjust the volume a little. And SteamVR keeps opening when running the game, which you can avoid by disabling the SteamVR plugin in unreal.

i was able to stabilize the mind! yay! the "try again" feature didn't seem to work for me, it would restart but i wouldn't be able to move. and whenever i add something like shooting to my games i usually make it repeat when you hold the button as opposed to mashing, because mashing is bad for your hands :(. but anyways a good entry that i was able to complete 👍

The SFX scared the shit out of me. But this is a finished game thats fun to fool around with! Thanks for submitting

It's really hard to understand what you are supposed to be doing. The movement and shooting are well done and the level design seemed fine. I think mostly just not knowing what's happening makes the game a little rough feeling. As others mentioned, the sound effects are quite loud and having to mash click gets old.

@zachsbutt @bentglasstube Thank you for the feedback  I agree, the click to shoot is not the best mechanic, It did have hold to shoot; however, somewhere along the way I had broken that and did not manage to fix it  Definitely one to get right next time

@tastiham @jpgfg @bentglasstube The sound is quite jarring; I had about 20 minutes left and one sound effect - explosion.wav  I did try to alter the sound in engine but I had not the time left to learn how to use the sound system.. I do need to better evaluate what time I have left and how some of the last minute changes may affect the game. Thank you for enduring my questionable sound design

Can't go wrong with a shooter game! It felt really good to play, and I mean you even have enemies pathfinding around the map which isn't an easy thing to do. The controls did seem to break if I ever ended a round and hit try again, but I could just close the app and re-launch it, and it would work for the first round.

For your first LD jam, this is a great entry. You completed something, and other people can play it! Sounds like you're already planning to practice your time management, which has me really excited to see what you'll bring next jam. Good work!

I have repackaged the game with steamVR plugins removed, and have (hopefully) fixed the controls not working on retry

I stabilized the mind.. On my first try i failed because i was trying to dodge all the incoming bullets instead of focusing on just shooting the others, afterwards i realized that this doesn't seem to make any difference (which is weird), so my more succesful strategy was just running back and forth across the screen aiming in a pretty constant direction, that seemed to do the trick. My first thought is that the funness could be improved quite a lot quite easily by adding all the classic juiciness things, explosions when enemies die, more satisfying shooting etc. e.g. https://youtu.be/AJdEqssNZ-U . Using a randomized shot sound from a set of them instead of just one is also a classic easy to do sound design trick. I thought the basic mechanic of killing the enemies to decrease the spawn circles before your world is overwhelmed with them is a solid idea and works pretty well, also the bright neon colours dream world sort of aesthetic could work pretty well too. Would be nice to see less engine assets and more handcrafted ones too. Anyway congrats on your first LD jam, you managed to succesfully navigate Unreal and got up a playable game which is no mean feat. Look forward to see what you come up with in the next one.

Nice game, pretty easy and fast to beat. Like the others the SFX is kinda hard and it's a little sad to hold the left click all the time to get lucky kills outside the player screen. But Nice Game Overall.

On my first try, I failed miserably  - there were holes everywhere, I fell though one, everything went white, and yet I kept shooting. Glorious times!

On my second try, though, I managed to stabilize the mind.

The game is very short and plays relatively well. Although, I think that it would be better to introduce some gun overheat, need to reload, innocent bystanders that you shouldn't shoot or something similar to prevent the player from just holding LMB and spraying bullets indiscriminately everywhere. Otherwise, you just sort of spray and pray  However - it is fun to just run and gun.

I would also change the aim reticle to some brighter color to make it better visible.

In really like the concept, but it would probably take way more time to balance and design it so that the execution works. In this state the game is not very challenging, but I would develop it further. I'm pretty sure there are many cool mechanics still to be discovered in that idea

Fairly basic game but decently fun, and I liked the effect of the level being slowly eroded. As you warned, the SFX are a little over the top, and I think the game could use some optimization.
