Good job man! Interesting take on the theme but executed well! I wasn't 100% sure on how the blocking works but I don't have much experience in boxing games so I may have just not understood but I still enjoyed it!

Awesome music and especially art. Kind of an early Flash aesthetic. :D
I think it's a neat idea and I like boxing fans in general. Sadly the controls didn't really feel very intuitive to me.
TODO: review game
@otresnjak Thanks! Yeah we were aiming for flash/newgrounds aesthetic.
@oxrock Thanks for playing it, Will keep that in mind controls wise.
Neat, I see you also like punching fish!
I have not been able to beat this yet, the opponent gets very fast at lower HP and also seems to block most of my attacks at that point.
It would be nice if there was a successful block indicator, so you know blocking works. Also some audio feedback before the opponent attacks would be nice, so you don't have to only rely on looking at him.
I currently reflexively only press block when I hear the attack sound, since I'm keeping track of the energy bar. But it seems like it's too late to try to block once the attack sound plays.
@jefvel Lol, I guess so.
Thanks for the feedback, If we work on this post jam, these will be at the top of the list to fix up. Audio feedback will have to be kept in mind if we create another game.
For some reason, this reminds me heavily of Homestar Runner's Snake Boxer. But with Sharks.
This was a pretty damn fun game. From flavor to visuals and gameplay, this just feels pretty fun even if it didn't have all that much to do with the theme.
The boxing mechanics where you control each hand separatedly feel fun and great, although i would have preferred to use right key to punch right instead of the left key.
As a side note, the game could really use a "counter hit" mechanic of sorts to stop the opponent from attacking with your own atatcks... It's weird to see them wind up a punch for you to hit them, then get get yourself!
Anyways the simple gameplay just feels like it could make room for some very complex combat with very few mechanics. Would love to see more in the future and congratulations
P.S. Maybe make more clear the blue bar is your HP and the red one is your enemy's by changing the placement or adding a gap between them? Maybe outright write it on top of each one.
Interesting take on the theme. The controls are not intuitive but one get used to them after a while. Cool art
Interesting fighting game. I was a bit unsure of how both attacking and defending worked. I was often unsure if I landed hits or if I blocked correctly.
Very cool art. GJ overall
