I like style but I can't play - see only intro
@tomz_best Try playing it in fullscreen it might allow you to access the "next" button to launch the game, if it don't work tell it to me!
@artemistake I also had the problem of not being able to get past the intro but viewing in full screen did in fact let me see the next button and progress.
As for my experience past the intro I will say I liked what I played. I found your art to be pretty charming (especially the brain as ground. I liked that you worked the theme and gameplay into both going deeper into you mind and literally having the level transfers be going down a hole. All in all a good showing.
@TheseusInABottle thanks for your feedback! i'll try to fix the intro bug to prevent confuse more players! your comments are very encouraging thank you! Also played Down the draven hole and had a blast! Very enjoyable audio and puzzles
I am stuck on the intro at this screen: captureldstuck.png
Nice intro music it could have used some subtitles
Nice little game, loved the art and the mechanics. This is a nice twist on the theme, quite original.
I encountered some sort of bug when attacking or using the corpse of the enemies while walking where the character would continue to move even though it seems like it should not, plus I did not have any control over his movement.
Otherwise a pretty good entry to the jam, well done ! :)
Nice Game, mechanics and art style were good, also the part about the screen being to big is probably a canvas problem, use screen scale with ui and rescale the ui elements and it should be fine, Overall great game though!
Very cool idea and I love the art in this! The brain background and attack animations look really cool, and using the dead "bad thoughts" to climb over and delve deeper into your brain is a cool idea. The opening cutscene laying out what is going on had great music, my only qualm is that it is quite soft (I actually didn't realize the first time playing that there was narration because I couldn't hear anything) and I would have loved subtitles at the bottom. I also couldn't figure out the range of the attack, as sometimes it would 1HKO when my attack animation would touch the enemy but the vast majority of times it didn't have an effect. I think either the range is way too tight or the enemy hitbox is too small. Very cool premise for a game that fits the theme well!
A lot of fun!! It might be a bug but I like how the character will keep moving if attacking or using enemies. Also in some levels it was difficult to know where I was supposed to go. Maybe some arrows could help! :)
I really liked the core mechanic of moving the bodies, and the controls were well implemented.
Personally, I found the attack range to be way too short. The timing was very precise, and there wasn't a visual indication of how far the attack could reach.
I got stuck on the third or fourth level because I put all the bodies on the ledge to make stairs, then fell back to the bottom and couldn't get out. Entirely self-inflicted, but a reset button would be nice.
The music and art give a very eerie feel, and the introductory cut-scene was a nice touch. I liked how it set up how the game related to the theme.
I did a review in the form of a video here: https://youtu.be/VrLvv5wIQig
In case you didn't want to watch that. I'll give a summary.
The intro to each level was very nice, it felt like I was actually going somewhere.
I loved the art and the font style, this coupled with the music set the mood very well.
The telekinesis made the game fun to play and made for some fascinating levels.
Despite this, the attack was the worst part of the game. It was either really inconsistent or I just couldn't understand it. My main cause of death was missing my attack, this made it quite frustrating at times.
I would have liked to have seen a reset button, I got a stuck a couple of times with no way to go back to the beginning of the level again.
Finally, here are the 'bugs' I've found:
Double Jumping - I don't think this is a bug, it is more of an exploit. You can jump, then use the telekinesis to place a dead body underneath you and then jump off of that. This allowed me to skip parts of the levels.
Super Jumping - When standing in front of a wall that is 1 block high, you can quickly tap SPACE twice to jump once, then twice off the ledge, this made me gain a tonne of momentum and also allowed me to quickly get past another part of the level.
Clipping - By standing in a corner, you can place a dead body on top of you to make you clip into the wall, this was inconsistent though.
Great Game!
