Great concept, if I would change anything then the light radius feels a tad too oppressive but other than that, really liked it! Well done!
Foon → Ludum Dare Explorer → LD46 → Light Is Life

Cool idea! I liked that you had to keep the lantern alive by refueling it. =)
Nice game, you used the mechanic very well.
Just one suggestion: Flip the sprite when the player moves to the left :)
Nice adaptation of the theme. Although there were on instructions, it was clear what I needed to do. Some small changes would have make the game feel more responsive. For example, flipping the sprite as @guladam mentioned. Using platform effectors, some particles or FX on death and light circle getting a bit darker on the edges.
Overall I really liked playing the game and it fits the theme very well.
Nice game, though a bit more unforgiving than I'd expect. I often had to jump to the darkness to discover how far to jump, and then restart the level from the beginning. In the end, the game felt more about repeated dying than about skill or exploration.
But otherwise, good job! The controls work, the graphics is simple but consistent (and efficient), and everything plays smoothly (well, apart from the repeated deaths).
Really nice take on the theme, although it would be great if you´d be able to add rotation of the character so he is not walking backwards, and also I was quite confused what happened after I reached to the ladder. Then I realised it was me passing to the 2nd level. Perhaps some additional information for the player would be great to have there. Overall really solid entry, love the idea of a platformer running out of light. Great job!
