Pretty fun! The movement felt really good, I like the physics a lot. It felt really good to swing the hammer around, but I had a hard time telling if my hits were doing anything. Good job overall!

Swinging the weapon around was fun but could have had a bit more impact, could have used a bit more explanation. Also a menu system would have benefited the game.

I liked the soundeffects, but i did not enjoy the movement and i did not know what the goal was? Maybe a Info Screen would be helpfull

beelzeboss 2020-04-22 06:21

Its a bit hard to know exactly what is going on since movement is really fast other than that Good Job!

That's definitely a novel combat system, it was a pretty fun experience admittedly! Nice job!

The combat system is unique! Swinging the hammer was really fun! The sound effects were also great! Greato Jobu!

Thanks to everyone for playing! @maxter10001 @systematic Oh yeah, we definitely need a particle or screen effect to play on hit. Maybe have the sound effect override whatever's already playing.

@riccastudio @beelzeboss Not having tutorials was one of my main regrets in rushing the game out.

@god-colo With the music in your own game I can definitely be proud of that compliment! Thanks!

This is a fun concept. I can see very clear inspiration from the game Hammerfight, so the gameplay is rather familiar to me, but you've done a good job creating a physics game in such a short time. Other comments already mentioned adding sound effects, or particles, which is good, but there's more you can do. The main challenge with this kind of game, I think, is making it feel like objects have "weight". You have to limit the speed/strength of the player, and make things in the game world bounce off each other or get pushed around by impacts; in this game, the objects just slide off of one another.

There was also no apparent consequence to bumping into enemy weapons, I actively tried to die and it didn't happen.

The graphics were pretty cool.

p.s. Why did my hammer turn into an axe after a while?

Good points: * Audio and soundtracks * controls * Graphics Critics: * A proper tutorial is missing * And a proper menu system was also missing

Overall the game was fun to play I really enjoyed itm

Nice gameplay idea unfortunately not very functional in this implementation, had a hard time understanding the green circles at first. The gravity component I felt was a bit frustrating. I also found it distracting that the background was a different scale/perspective than the "gameplay sprites" themselves.

I like the visual design of the enemies and weapons. Feels like enemies could attack more and move towards the player from different angles, maybe also with some ranged attacks!

This is a pretty nice game, it was a bit hard to get into but once I got the swing of it (pun intended) it was pretty fun to do and seeing tiny characters with MASSIVE weapons made it really funny aswell. Now one of the things I felt was kinda missing here was the feeling of impact, the momentum is pretty spot on but when hitting an enemy it felt kinda lackluster because the enemies just kept floating there. But all in all I think it is a solid game, so well done!

Have you ever played [Hammerfight](https://store.steampowered.com/app/41100/Hammerfight/)? It's got a similar combat mechanic.

Ditto missing the feeling of impact. It was strange that there was audio for hitting an enemy weapon but not the enemy. Some physics based smacking around would also be a great addition.
