nice very nice simple and fun.. loved jumping and dashing around as its animation was on point.. it would have been nice if there was running animation too..very nice character too..but needs a some improvements on game play the platform felt too slippery..level designs were good..
It comes Sonic memories to me! I love it
@xitaro Thanks, played and rated yours, very nice! :)
@synltr totally! Didn't have a lot of time for polishing towards the end, as this is the first LD I've ever done my time management wasn't so great hahaha! Thanks for the feedback, I'll try increasing the friction/drag internally and that should clean it right up :)
@artzibal I'm so glad to hear that! The controls and platforming were mostly inspired by Celeste for me, my favourite platformer. The player character and level were based off Ori and The Blind Forest, so I guess there's a lot of traces of inspiration from other games in there! :D
They did cool that there are saves, but minus that you can’t reset them, otherwise I wanted to make speedrun, but I was too lazy to download the new archive. But please, remove the glide on the ground ... And it seems to me that your game with glide on the ground looks on the same difficulty as "I wanna be the boshy" or even "I wanna kill the Kamilla 3". And so I wish you success, it was fun to play your game, especially there is an Easter egg in the form of a welcome in the corner at the end). Even in the same Celeste or Ori, about which you wrote above there was no sliding mechanics, well, maybe there was an braking animation in Ori, but certainly the character himself did not slide anywhere there).
Neat game! The last segment was kinda hard but I made it to the end. Congrats on the art and the sfx. The background music is pretty cool as well. Great entry!
The art style and animations were on point! But I felt that the camera was a little too floaty and the controls a little slippery, other than that Well done!
Nice Game!! loved your idea
Congrats on your 1st Ludum dare. I think the game plays fine and the particle effects are a good start. The audio is good for me and the overall flow of the game is enjoyable. Nevertheless, I think you should improve the following things. 1st the walking animation, you are only working with 1 or 2 keyframes you should make more intermediate frame so the animation is more fluid. The jumping animation is really cool for example. 2nd You need to add a background image to make it more enjoyable to play. It could be in a greyscale there is no problem with that. But if you add more elements the environment of the game will drastically improve. Never the less good job :)
I really like the effect of coloring in the world! It would be even better if more of the world got colored in though, the backgrounds are a bit simple right now. I really struggled with some platforms at around the 80% mark, there didn't seem to be enough friction so even if I landed properly I just slid off the edge as if it was ice. I liked the character, always used to love the Sonic games when growing up!
@paulsams actually yes you can reset them! There is a delete progress button in the bottom left hand side on the main menu, didnt have muc time for GUI so you're forgiven for missing it, HAH! :)
@pedro-rosa thank you for your feedback, we were working with a rather small amount of time for the animations so thats why they are choppy looking, but I think its better than nothing. There were 4 frames btw, subtle looking transitions though, so I'll keep that in mind for next time. Also we were going to do multiple layers of trees for the background but ran out of time. Again, thank you for the useful feedback! :)
@joeshanahan Hindsight is a great thing, I've gone ahead and made an updated version of the game that has better controls, nicer camera post processing and better import settings for graphics so they look and run better (though the run animation still looks a little choppy). Should be well optimised for everyone playing in the future now! :D
Cool idea though a bit more variation could help but enjoyed playing it
I like the graphics of the game, the concept is simple but interesting! good idea and good game !! GG
Who is Darian?
@asfdfdfd friend of ours, we said we'd include him in the game since he came up with the name ;)
@afendar thanks so much!
