I like it.
Nice idea and sweet and simple graphics. I would love to see some more possibilities to actually save lives then just remembering the levels. I am talking about some mechanic like minesweeper where you can have an idea where the next trap is even without sacrificing half a life.
I think the game has potential. At first I didn't realize that space bar would highlight potential traps, and it would only cost when there was a trap. You should have a note about which keys to use inside the game so that anyone can successfully play it without reading the description on this page.
It would have been nice to have a reset/or try again button. I found myself having to refresh the page after running out of lives.
It would also be nice if the spikes were in different patterns each time. I found myself memorizing the path so I could advance to further levels.
Overall a good entry. I look forward to seeing your future submissions.
Very funny game, I like this simple idea and visuals. However, it would be better, if you restored full health at the beginning of each level.
i like the graphics & effects. i was thinking about Minesweeper while playing this, it would be cool if you were able to deduce where the traps were. but i know this is just a LD jam game so i really like it!
nice little game, good job.
Nice concept, graphics and camera shake. Really liked it, you just have to be a little lucky to win.
I checked out the source code. It looks like you coded everything from scratch, without an engine? That's pretty impressive. Nice work!
The core mechanic seems like it has potential. The game turns into a memorization puzzle when you try it again, and there's not nearly enough life to make it very far otherwise. Even so, I got past level 10 and quit. At the very simplest, adding more life per level and randomizing the levels would make a better game IMO. Love the cute pixel art.
Cute game. I made it up to level 5 on the second try. I sort of like the trial and error aspect of this game, but I sort of wish there was a way to detect which squares were dangerous before making a move.
A very interesting concept for a game! I'd have preferred it if it were possible to succeed by most effectively using your lives to search for traps. So, for instance, after a couple of tries I used the minimum number of lives required to ensure a safe passage through levels 1-4, then died 1 square away from the end of level 5. Instead, it becomes more a case of necessarily dying and having to remember the safe path through each level to preserve your lives.
