@adrieldf oke very nice game, still buggy with the monster not deal damage or maybe it will become more good when you can show damage point

adrieldf 2019-05-01 15:07

@rikun thanks for the feedback, I'll try to improve it.

pixscope 2019-05-01 20:22

Pretty good ! I loved the slimes !

adrieldf 2019-05-02 13:40

Thanks @pixscope! I'm glad you liked it!

pcmaster 2019-05-10 15:57

Hi! I wasn't very sure when do I deal damage - is it when I hit space or when the PRETTY DELAYED swing ends? It felt disconnected. This needs to be communicated to the player next time :) In your next game, add a bit of screen-shake maybe, when you obtain damage, push the enemies a bit back when you inflict damage on them, etc. A pushback/recoil is always good, as a feedback mechanism, as are particle effects (blood, anything). Still, big congratz to publishing this, I like the simple graphics and even the sound :)

Hello @pcmaster, thanks for the feedback and playing the game. If I remember correctly the attack does the damage with about 0.8f seconds after the spacebar press, and I guess the animation was to slow for it to be responsive int time. About the feedback with enemies being pushed we added but it doesn't worked really well and we didn't have time left to improve it, and for the other advices we will be sure to work in the next one. And again thank you, your sugestions will help to improve a lot in the next projects.

I didn't see the connection to the theme, but I liked your upgrade system where you always have a negative impact as well as a positive (especially the +Health, -Health one ). I missed some kind of visual feedback when you got hit and also when you hit enemies. It seems like you can spam attack as there is no cooldown on it and thus get much damage output. Very nice soundtrack and also the sound effects are fitting.

dk5000p 2019-05-10 16:43

I enjoyed the artwork, the music was very epic and good sword swing sound. I didn't really know if I was hurting the enemies and at what point the enemies hurt me. Feedback is very important. Also, there wasn't any variety in gameplay to keep me engaged, but with a few more enemies and maybe seeing what my stats are for speed and attack, it will feel a lot better.

gamefive 2019-05-10 17:48

It's neat and cute graphics. I think it'd be nice to pay more attention to offensive animation. The blow is unnatural. The game was fun. The background music is wonderful.

jesusache 2019-05-10 18:24

Its a nice little game, and a pretty nice entry for a first jam! I think the main issue is that the attack animation is kinda limp. In the future consider adding less anticipation for the attack (so it feels more responsive and snappy), and making the attack a bigger arc, if you look at games like megaman Zero, the sword has a ridiculous arc that just smears in front of Zero, and that's what makes the game so satisfying. As a general rule, if you have to choose between making things too powerful for the player or too frustrating, go for the powerful. That aside, the feedback for hitting and the way the wave is set up is really nice, it creates a very complete game loop, which usually is the most important aspect of a jam game. Hope to see you in the next jam!

I loved graphics and sounds but it was really hard to know when i hitted the slimes and when they hitted me, also i couldnt turn up and down but i guess this was just because of time limitation

adrieldf 2019-05-14 20:11

@skosnowich thanks for playing and leaving a feedback. About the theme we tried to use the health as currency for the upgrades so it always will have a +health or -health. A lot o people pointed about the hit and we will improve for the next time.

adrieldf 2019-05-14 20:15

@dk5000p @gamefive @jesusache @pedro137br thanks for playing and leaving feedback. I'm really glad that you guys liked the music and sound effects. About the hit and damage with enemies we will try to make more responsive next time.
