5 stars from me for the Mood. keep it up !

ldjsq 2019-04-29 16:48

Nice idea! I especially liked the graphics and the music. I think it would be cool if one could also speed up the game.

tattomoosa 2019-04-29 16:57

@zax Thank you! Mood was definitely my focus this time around.

@ldjsq Yeah, some kind of speed setting would be nice. One of many features I wanted to implement but did not have the time for :) Glad you liked the graphics/music!

daria-toni 2019-04-29 19:18

The style is very cool and it creates such a special mood! Nice music and gamma. The gameplay isn't difficult, but it was a bit hard to quickly understand how it works.

Nice "little" game but the style and the - don't know - shader? is superb. I will definitely have a look into the source of this one :)

joemanaco 2019-04-29 21:41

Wow. Very unique. The Mood is incredible (the art, the chill music). Had a great experience with your entry.

tattomoosa 2019-04-29 23:06

@daria-toni Thanks! Do you think more visual feedback in-game would be helpful? Maybe progress bars for when things need to eat/drink?

@grille Thanks! The source is mostly a mess but the kaleidoscope effect part is not so bad, at least.

@joemanaco Thank you so much! I'm glad you enjoyed it.

This game kind of reminds me of mine except it's much more on the chill side of things. I've just been letting it hangout and play me some music. I appreciate the fact that I have to click for text. The game lets me take my time. Right on. Good job. :)

Edit: Aw, I failed, and I'm not a fan of having to re-click through everything. How very zen, though. Haha.

tattomoosa 2019-04-30 04:48

@Bakenshake Glad you enjoyed it! An intro skip would definitely be good! I even had a kludgy dev flag to skip it -- probably should have taken that as a sign, lol

Hey man this is pretty sick! I didn't know quite what to expect by a "website game" (that could have been anything!) but generated graphics and live-effected music is pretty good! I'd love to read a post-mortem about how you did the music effects.

Theme-wise, I like the idea of a god who sacrifices a part of themself to further grow the world. It works pretty well, and further accentuates the somberness put out by the graphics and music. Definitely the prettiest idle clicker I've ever played!

Edit: One bit of feedback is that I think it would be cool if the color (or colors!) of the garden changed as you made progress.

gimblll 2019-04-30 06:31

Really beautiful, maybe a bit slow for my personal taste but great work altogether. Definitely stands out in the compo (in a very good way).

tattomoosa 2019-04-30 07:06

@jjjjason Thanks! All I meant by "website game" is a game made with web languages. I poked around in your source a bit, it's a lot cleaner than mine :)

I'm kicking myself that I didn't change the color as you progress!!... originally my intention was for the colors and the music to change dependent on the balance of the resources. That didn't happen, but it would have been super easy to at least make it shift on every new resource unlock.

The music effect is a total hack - literally a for loop calling setTimeout a ton of times and setting the playback rate of the music lol. I am very surprised that it works as well as it does.

@gimblll Thanks! I definitely found pacing it tricky and do not think that I nailed it :)

This is probably the first game I've played that made me feel dizzy and motion sick which is a shame because the graphics are very beautiful and polished and the music is relaxing and pretty chill (I've even left it running in the background to enjoy while I type this review). I'm a little disappointed at how the gameplay is squished up at the top of the screen, and the dialogue pushed right down to the bottom (on a large monitor it's not very comfortable to keep track of), and while very pretty to look at for short periods, the main background spinning was very distracting and didn't do anything to enhance the gameplay (and for me personally made the experience worse). You've clearly got a flair for visuals though so I hope you continue to make games, the game was really well balanced and thought-out and I never experienced any bugs or crashes which is impressive. An interesting experience.

tattomoosa 2019-05-02 18:44

@historymaker118 Thank you, so so sorry that it made you feel sick!! I would have *really* liked to get some options in for the background to address motion sensitivity and performance issues but never made it that far. Motion sickness is definitely not the mood I was going for! Very glad you liked the music at least!

That background was also intended to have more gameplay use... I also never made it that far. :)

I am sure I could have placed or displayed the gameplay better. My original intention was some sort of board, but... I never made it that far :D. I will definitely do some thinking on how that could have been improved.

Lovely unique ideas with some very interesting stuff going on. Liked the visuals and music, really chill vibe.

Just a small bug - you can click in places on the top bar where you haven't unlocked anything and it'll still decrease health.

pcoridan 2019-05-05 00:02

This was a nice chill game in between all the other games I've been playing today, for that alone thank you. Loved the concept and how it looks. Unless the price for getting bugs goes a up a bit as the game goes on I think I died when I shouldn't have after clicking it twice. Hard to tell. I would love to see more of this. Also using PixiJS nice work. Keep it up!

geckoo1337 2019-05-05 20:24

Hello. You did an amazing work on the aesthetic and mood. The quiet music is great. I like the kaleïdsocope as background. Well done ++

dorkulon 2019-05-11 15:31

This was a really cool experience that was exceptionally well onboarded. Great job! For the purposes of this jam, I would have liked the timers to have run a little bit faster. Overall, though, this feels like it could make for a more fully-fledged experience given some additional things to do, while still retaining the chill feel of it all.
