I like the goofy graphics and the bullet-bouncing thing. It's overall fun, I suck at games like this but I still enjoyed it so that's saying something.
Foon → Ludum Dare Explorer → LD44 → Wild West Devil Pact

Cute western pixel art!Your animations are quite fun :-)
The Graphics are amazing! Love the whole idea of the game as well. Keep it up!
Solid concept of using theme. Idea of bouncing projectiles makes it better. Works good with simple graphic. Unfortunately i got stuck right in second level, unable to jump over obstacle.
I enjoyed the art and puzzle platforming mechanics! Despite the character and environmental art being a total mismatch in terms of the pixel densities, its understandable for a jam game and had a certain charming quirkiness to it.
The collisions did feel a tad wonky, i.e. getting stuck on walls and switches. The combat also felt off with the bullets having unnatural arcs to them, especially when coupled with the bouncing.
Great job on the level design! I really enjoyed certain parts where the enemy had the high ground and it felt like you were being ambushed. Good work!
the use of life to buy items is classic we see a lot on the jam but everything works and graphically it's very nice so congratulations ....
I like the physics put into the bullets and the different sizes they have going forward and at the end game. Well done!
Nice Game with nice bullet Physiks, but you can't kill yourself by buying upgrades XD .
I did not expect much after seeing the artstyle in the screenshots, but oh boy, was is wrong. This is the first arcade like game I played through till the end since i started rating. The platforming was good, aiming and shooting was well balanced. I liked the little ricochet puzzles. And the enemy bullet size and speed variaations were fun as well. All in all a very good experience. Thanks a lot!
Only the art really needed some polishing. The pixel art style of the character and the enemies really collided with the downscaled photographic textures of the surroundings. But thats really my only complaint (and possibly only because art was my main focus in our game)
The theme integration was a bit bland (removing the coin system for upgrades and instead paying for them with your hp) but you implemented it better than all other similar games I played. It didn't feel like a punishment to buy upgrades and you had enough healing oppurtunities in the levels themselves.
Thank you so much for all of your kind feedback! I really appreciate it!
I know, the graphics might not be the best, but I didn't have that much time remaining at the end ;) I created all of the mechanics first. This is my first Ludum Dare or game jam in general, I definetely learned a lot during this time!
I think the graphics are decent, but there are some consistency issues with the art style. The gameplay felt a bit incoherent - some aspects felt smooth, but others needed some refining. I also have a soft spot for Construct 3 since I started with C2 before moving to Unity. I think you did a great job, though you should probably opt out of Audio if you don't have any :o
Nice idea and I think the incorporation of the theme was nice, but the rest felt slightly janky. I hard a really hard time even killing one enemy! but good job !
Cool game. I found the art little worked, but the mechanics of the game made it all very fun, the only bad thing is that there were no more stages :(. Good job!
Didn't think I'd finish this but it got better. The puzzles took me by surprise and were pretty fun. Combat could really use some feedback to be more satisfying. Audio would be best of course but some screen shake for shooting/getting hit can work wonders too. Congrats on your first Jam, I'd suggest for your next one that you try to make sure you add even the most basic sounds for stuff because it really does make a huge difference in how a game feels. BFXR is great for quickly generating basic sounds.
The mechanic of shooting projectiles that way is quite original and I like it. The graphics and animations are nice. The idea of spending your life to buy stuffs I think it fits the theme well. You really feel the lack of sounds and music while playing. Another frustrating thing for me was controlling the mouse with my right hand and not able to use AWSD to control the movements, make sure always to include those in conjunction with LRUD keys. Overall I think you did a good job, I would like to see a more polished version of this!
Real fun
The wall mechanic is new for me, I liked it. I would like to play on W,A,S,D too, should have the both options! :)
I didn't expect the bouncing bullet mechanic and puzzles, I didn't expect the giant bullets and I ESPECIALLY didn't expect the countdown sun! A very direct but well executed interpretation of the theme. I liked the fact that you also included some narrative into it (I'm a sucker for spaghetti westerns tbh.)
Great work on your first game jam!! :)
