It is hard to see what do you need to do at the beginning, but when you get how it works, it's funny!! I like the "luck" for getting good cards.

Graphics are not the best, but I know nobody can do everything perfect.

Thanks for the little fun!!

bar0net 2018-08-14 09:39

@kidnadcat Thank you for your feedback!! I admit I struggle quita a lot creating the art for these games and I spent too much time in it for such a discrete result.

whoisninja 2018-08-14 09:59

I love this type of game. it's awesome and I want to play more. But there's a bug when I'm at the inventory, when I press the "BACK" button. it's not going back. it's just stuck there. Graphics is cool and this game has so much potential. good work!

shozou 2018-08-14 10:04

Yup, got stuck in the inventory as well. There should be some more explanation as to what to do in game, not everyone will read the descriptions after all.

kyllax 2018-08-14 10:17

It has a lot of potential, if you update the graphics and add a bit more polish the game could turn out awesome.

I came across a bug which made the game unplayable, had to restart. There was an event in which I get to pick items but I gain insanity. I picked one item and when I pressed back it wouldn't work anymore.

Overall it was a good experience!

bar0net 2018-08-14 10:37

@whoisninja Thanks for playing the game and giving me some feedback.

@shozou The game needs some text giving some flavour to the story and giving some directions, specially at the begining but I ran out of time.

@kyllax Thank you for playing the game and commenting!

I have uploaded a new build where that bug is hopefully fixed.

Awesome game! loved the graphics!

halfmule 2018-08-14 11:26

I am loving the card-based battle system! As you have to choose based on the cards you have at your disposal, the choice does not get too overwhelming. Are there later items which manipulate the deck even more, or allow the player to keep one of the cards for the next turn?

Sadly, the UI left me puzzled sometimes. At first, I did not know where I was in the beginning. Diogenes is not on the island map ever, is he? I understand that later on.

Once I had a choice of picking up four items, and when I pressed one, it asked me if I wanted to pay the drop cost for a specific one of the four items. Always the same item, even if I pressed exactly that one. I did not really get how picking up something would result in paying the drop cost for something else, especially as the something else was not in my inventory and there was enough space in my inventory.

Otherwise, a very fun and intriguing game. It made me wonder how everything works in the game, and I wanted to explore it.

@zicboy Thank you for playing my game and leaving a comment!

@halfmule the part of the merchant isn't properly explained, you are right (and it's probably not well balanced either). The idea behind it is that you can drop items from your inventory and increase your insanity or take items from the merchant and decrease your insanity (Diogenes loves new items!). I will add this in the description on the game since I didn't have time to properly explain the mechanic in game. Thank you for playing and giving feedback!

levlaj 2018-08-14 12:55

@bar0net, could you explain a bit more how to play? I don't seem to have understood how to play it. In the battles I just played all the actions possible every turn, and then finished the turn. Based on the above comments there must be more to it.

dumivid 2018-08-14 13:57

Good game but I think as ma y others tell you, keep the game simply or at least give people a proper tutorial. Gameplay and sound are good and graphic enough simple to make game understandable, overall, nice work.

timothy-spit 2018-08-14 15:45

Very cool game! I love the fighting concept with the cards and unlocking new combinations very much!

I also think that I might have spotted a minor bug: If you have a full inventory and come to a merchant you cannot buy anything (so far so good); but if you now sell something you still cannot buy an item (the new items stay grayed out). It's a minor bug though, just wanted you to know it ;)

bar0net 2018-08-14 18:57

@levaj thank you for your feedback, I will try to improve my description so it is easier to understand how to play.

@dumivid Thanks for playing! I wished I had more time to polish some things but I ran out of time.

@timothy-spit you are right about that bug, thank you for your feedback.

narudgi 2018-08-14 22:50

aaa its so sad it feels cheap, it gives a bad feeling in comparison of the concept actually fun ! I feel like its the same for our game : too long prototyping, then no time for polish and get things cool ; but at least you have a game, not us haha ;; the previous game I did alone was like this "protype in 1 hour then have fun" but well, for some concept it can't be done

but anyway well played, was interesting !

bar0net 2018-08-15 02:20

@narudgi I literally lost a day in a concept that ended up going nowhere and then I had this gradious idea and... yeah... no time for polish. It has been quite a frustrating experience but I learnt a lot (I think). Anyways, thank you for playing and leaving some feedback.

autumnotopia 2018-08-15 08:00

Despite the aforementioned lack of polish, I had fun with it (which isn't something I can say about other games with better graphics). The core gameplay of min-maxing your cards with your various combos is simple but I think it expanded in some cool ways.

The only thing that confused me at first was that different areas come and go as far as events are concerned. I think a textbox just saying like 'nothing going on here!' would have made more sense to me haha. Otherwise, I didn't run into any bugs or anything which is nice!

necromic 2018-08-15 13:35

Ey! Nice idea. The main problem I had is the lack of feedback for the interactions. It took me a while to realize I was losing health i.e., also the size of the typography is pretty small and hard to read.

bar0net 2018-08-15 21:35

@autumnotopia Thank you for your feedback. I should have though more about how to communicate what locations were active and which ones were not. Having a tooltip saying 'Nothing going on here!' is an interesting approach. Thank you for the idea!

@necromic I wanted to do some kind of more elavorate animation but I ran out of time. The shake the characters do was something added at the last minute. I wanted to do too many things and that was bad planning on my part.

flaterectomy 2018-08-19 08:20

An interesting loot game, but I have to agree with the previous commenters in regard to feedback. I lost some turns in my first fight not realizing I had to select cards and activate an ability. I did not notice my health dropping. Also, it wasn't immediately clear to me that the Magic value of a bolt attack was also damage, given that damage is a separately mentioned value.

The card game element has potential, but I didn't really feel I was forced to make smart tactical decisions. Upon restarting the game (HTML5) the music started playing again, over the music that was already playing.

The graphics are a little weak. The weak points in my eyes are: * Lack of a colour scheme/clashing colours. * Different scaling - the player/monsters are scaled up x2, the rest isn't. * As mentioned, lack of visual feedback

The music got on my nerves after a while, kind of a random note cacophony.

Not a bad game at all, but you have to stick with it to discover it.
