This is actually kind of fun to play. Good work! Can't wait to see your future LD submissions.

I just liked the humor and the sounds! I got to much money, at the end

bryan-coen 2018-04-23 12:32

Fun to play! Maybe the game is a bit too easy? Otherwise great work.

smiling-cat-entertainment 2018-04-23 12:33

I like the concept for the game, driving between sites to build towers. I really like that the vehicle itself is like a mobile tower, able to be deployed where needed until funds are available to build.

I hope you take this concept further and scale up the difficulty - I was looking forward to seeing how the advancing waves would tax my towers, but I found that a single tower sufficed to last to at least wave 25.

Loved the sound!!!

lemonbalmgames 2018-04-24 09:15

This game is absolutely positively hilarious. The music wouldn't win you any awards in the actual 'music' category but it sure brought a smile to my face. I'm not going to focus on the flaws of the game because I'm sure you're aware of them (your own in-game commentary suggests as much). I'll just say that playing it gave me a good chuckle. Good job, I'm sure you're going to do great in your future jams!

patrickrmc 2018-04-24 12:54

@LemonBalmGames Thank you. I didn't really think about the music category, I figured if I can't get any high scores in GamePlay or graphics, I can atleast try and get something in Humour

egawag 2018-04-25 05:26

The pew sounds were the most charming thing in the world! I also loved the ship on ice feel of the player, once i got the hang of it I could drift across to place down an emergency tower. I just wish there was more diversity in towers and enemies to add more past wave 12. Overall great job!

patrickrmc 2018-04-25 07:35

@egawag If I ever continue this game, I'll be sure to make the game more difficult and more dynamic. I appreciate the feedback!

Nice! However I don't really see the racing part except the fact that we control a vehicle. The music is mesmerizing! Good work!

gamesplusjames 2018-04-26 13:31

That was fun! I loved the pew pew sounds of your gun :D I like the style of the game too :) It seemed a little easy though, one tower was enough to handle all the enemies it seemed, and the waves should probably get harder over time. Great work! :)

xoidberg 2018-04-29 13:12

SFX are great  Gameplay could have used more "meat".

patrickrmc 2018-04-29 13:22

@xoidberg I used way to long trying to do the enemies and turret I didn't have much time trying to do the Spawning and such. Though to be honest I could've done more in the time I had.. Thank you!

almax 2018-05-01 20:53

I didn't know what to do in the beginning but after placing my first turret I didn't seem to need to place any more... I got to wave 15 before giving up. Do the waves get faster or stronger? I did like the audio though, it's fun to see games that do all their audio with voices :)

dyoni 2018-05-01 23:13

Nice! Although not very challenging, the game has a nice concept! Good job!

blushine 2018-05-02 03:30

I liked the funny/surreal background music. The racing mechanics were a little bit disappointing, since you're not really racing against anything, or even a timer. It felt more like Sanctum, Orcs Must Die, or any other action/tower defense mashup where you control a character that can build towers and help fight. The driving mechanics might have been more interesting if there were some kind of obstacles that were difficult to avoid, or if enemies fired projectiles that forced you to move around the map and dodge.

The difficulty was also definitely an issue, since 1 turret alone seemed to be able to take care of every wave. An easy way to fix this could be to simply make enemies spawn faster with every wave (that's what I did for my tower defense game). Personally, I'd always rather have a game that's too difficult and ends quickly instead of a game that's too easy and goes forever, because you can replay a difficult game and try out different strategies.

patrickrmc 2018-05-02 05:39

@BluShine @Dyoni @Almax Thanks for playing! I should've used longer on the enemies and wavespawner, since they currently don't get stronger and such, and maybe I could've increases the cost of the turrets each wave. I appreciate you taking your time to play my game, my games seem to be lacking gameplay, and that is something I'll need to work on for the next game jams! Thank you.

aaron-nemoyten 2018-05-02 06:06

I'm a sucker for Tower Defense games. I wanted more challenge though! I love the idea of madly bumping around the level, trying to upgrade a turret that's in a key position... if only you had more time! This could be a lot of fun if expanded, especially if you made the level geography more complex. Imagine if the enemies actually had an overpass that the player could go under to get to the other side of the level!

patrickrmc 2018-05-02 16:30

@Aaron Nemoyten I love Tower Defense games! I think I'll continue this project, but make it from the start. Thanks for playing and thanks for the feedback!

Dropping the player onto the battle field could yield all sorts of interesting choices to be made. Positioning the tank would matters if the towers required fixing, more ammo or upgrading; certain enemy types could only be defeated by the tank turret; or by powerups appearing all around the map, to name a few possibilities.

I had bought every tower by wave 15. Waited for a while and even at Wave 30 the very first tower was able to defeat all of the monstrous cubes. Where's the challenge progression?

The ship and the turret look good, yet they are tiny. You could have used the screen estate better by fitting the level horizontally thus allowing the camere to zoom closer. Not going to comment further on the temp cubes.

Design and content are lacking, workmanship isn't bad apart from the missing graphical assets. Good effort, low scores though.
