Interesting concept. It actually reminds me of a small scale bullet hell, not because there's tons of bullets, but because scoring in this game requires you to dodge bullets and get as close to the enemy as you can (at least, that's the strategy I'm currently using).

Also, congratulations making a game with music (that's always the last step for me). The bullets seemed a bit too numerous and fast for me, so I rarely killed more than one enemy, but I spotted at least two different types of enemies, so that was cool. I would have liked to see more varieties of traps (like one use pits, etc.), but feature creep never helped anyone develop a game quickly.

Good job on making a playable game.

@ThePelranthean our team accedentily broke how enemies shot while bug fixing, so the enemies could shoot across the map. It's fixed now if you want to try it again. We also had a bug where the player couldn't animate, and we will fix that soon as well

Cool idea! The sound effects were spot on :)

The concept is unusual! Maybe it will be useful for you: try to keep the basic idea and present it somewhat differently, for example, "saving from the monster in the dungeon, using traps."

Well Done! Not being able to directly achieve your objective was... really fun! Keep it up! I want to destroy more things without violence!

Indirect 'fighting' is a cool mechanic :D not sure what the terrorist part was of the title, his enemies were more terrorising ;) A bit more diversity in the map would have been cool, like some impassable rocks / areas with special nonlethal effects / powerups for speed.

Fun, kinda like Bomberman in way, almost, maybe :))

Try this one, no traps but you can shoot the sh** out of them :) https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/41/sam

I agree with previous posters that it's an interesting concept! I'm sure parallels can be drawn to other games but I'm not sure I've quite played something like it before myself so it was a bit new to me. I'm pretty sure any manner of intentionally killing people disqualifies someone as a pacifist tho. ;pp

It was kind of funny that the title for the game changes between every reference to it. The URL to this page says "unnamed game", the title says "Pacifist Terrorist", the .exe just says "Ludum Dare 41" and the caption of the window when the game is running says "The Adventures of Thiccy Boi"!

Music was really good! Nicely balanced volume with the sound effects as well.

Overall it worked out quite well and I'd really only add some more content, which of course is the most difficult part of a jam with limited time. I never figured out what the coins were for! But I also never managed to win a stage, if that's possible. Is it?

My only real complaint is that the input scheme was a bit wonky. The mouse was only used to click 'play' which was a bit awkward. Could've probably used the enter key instead. Also confused about the 'options' button because all it seemed to do was change the size of the window. It also wasn't obvious that I had to press escape to go back to the main menu after dying. But the gameplay input was perfect, and that was of course the most important!

Engaging game and cool idea. Good work!

@Ava Skoog this feedback is really great! The coins are just a alternative scoring system (for now) we are going to add randomly generated rocks and cactus in the future, improve the spawning system, make more traps, and make traps/walls purchasable. It will turn into a little bit of a tower defense/bullet hell/horde battling game. If you want, you can check up on it later, our team is going to continue development after the jam ends. Thanks!
