Nice gameplay and music ^^ at first look the orders were a little fast but it works well. gj~

burntfeelings 2016-08-29 02:28

you should have zipped it so it downloads faster

kevkevonfire 2016-08-29 02:29

Not bad, though I found it VERY difficult to tell when I had taken too long to make a sale and it seemed having to smack the katanas on the anvil was practically an auto-strike later on. Core gameplay concept is solid though, and music was a nice extra touch.

videogreg93 2016-08-29 02:42

@BurntFeelings I thought on itch.io it was zipped?

@KevKevOnFire Yeah, I feel that way too. I think the gameplay is pretty good but the difficulty and "user friendliness" still needs a lot of work

Nice job. It is a little tough trying to understand what to do at times. A timer showing when an order expires would have been helpful.

soul6942 2016-08-29 03:12

this is a very nice game given how long you had. the music was simple yet easy on the ears and the gameplay was good as well. if given enoguh time, new sprite work, and extensive bug checking and adding onto the game, this could become a popular game.

Some kind of tutorial maybe would be helpful, I was confused as to what to do, but figured it out pretty quickly. Maybe a wider area where you give people their orders? It seemed a little difficult to give people the items.

pogo575 2016-08-29 03:12

Solid core. A timer for the order would have made all the difference along with some feedback for when I can interact.

This game have potential for some reason the customers didnt show up for me but i could still hear the sound when they left. but still nicely executed idea

Pretty cool idea, nice music. Good job.

Nice look into the past, very addictive and enjoyable

vaiaphraim 2016-08-29 17:37

Wow.. even the cakewalk mode was hard to me, I probably lasted 3 mins or so.

I think your explanation is wrong at a point... it seems like the regular sword needs to be anvil-ed, not the katana(?)

The dropoff point could have been a bit more obvious (or maybe the entire lane? not sure about the difficulty)
The arrow points there, but I seem to only reach the correct spot randomly :(

Anyway, cool music and nice sfx (the sfx were a bit loud in the main menu, otherwise, really cool!)

Well done!

emmett_shatley 2016-08-29 23:31

Very cool idea, nicely done.

@videogreg93 I love the idea! But you messed something up with the jar creation, you can actually open the .jar file with an archive program like 7zip and delete the "Fonts" "Sounds" and "Tiles" folders and the additional .jar file all of which are INSIDE your game jar. This decreases the size by 2/3.

videogreg93 2016-08-30 04:03

@Anudin Really... I added the folders because it would crash without them, but if it works for you... I'll look into it. Thanks!

anudin 2016-08-30 09:24

@videogreg93 Well, maybe I'm wrong with this as I can only confirm this working on Windows... Didn't think of the other platforms (was really late when I wrote the comment :)). Was it a platform specific fix?

hermetic 2016-09-03 01:35

Nice game concept. Probably needs some of those user-friendliness things you would have added if you had more time. The core game mechanics are working though! It was pretty fun, and that's what makes a game.

The first thing I would add would be an indicator of how much time is left on a customer. The second would be to make the drop off the entire counter.

Good job.
