I love this style of game!

bunn1e5 2015-08-25 21:53

XD, I loved the EULA, although i had to disagree to the Eula terms as I actually like my kidneys.

mechatofupirate 2015-08-25 21:53

Thought it was funny. Good work.

rikardkarlsen 2015-08-25 21:57

Funny game!

radiolemon 2015-08-25 22:01

I can see you doing more with this, it was a neat text game.

lkpridgeon 2015-08-26 00:10

BUNN1E5 Thank-you. I like my kidneys too..

RadioLemon I am thinking of extending it however I am not sure where to go yet. I will be working on a few issues before I list it on my site reguarding grammer and the engine I used. I will most likely work on it on and off for a few months to attempt to finish it and fill in the cracks that are visible at the moment.

walaber 2015-08-26 22:38

nice start! hopefully you can finish it up after the competition ends.

lkpridgeon 2015-08-27 06:28

walaber Thank-you for playing and the feedback. I intend to finish it in some fashion that is less buggy and more polished.

Declined EULA, was put in charge of a company... I should do that more often...!

Shame you didn't get to where you wanted to, but I managed to save my company millions and get them some awesome tax breaks...!

lkpridgeon 2015-08-29 14:37

Xeke_Death Thank-you for playing and I'm glad you took your time to read the EULA and found my little debug code I by mistake left in to say what the day value is to unlock other stuff like tax breaks.

fistmaker 2015-08-29 21:21

Interesting take on the theme!

lkpridgeon 2015-08-30 14:36

fistmaker Thank-you for taking your time to give it a try.

crowbeak 2015-09-05 14:06

The lack of breaks in the text make this really hard to read.

amras0000 2015-09-05 14:56

What you've got there is a choose your own adventure. What you need for a good choose-your-own-adventure game are:
-Good Writing
-Frequent Choices
The choices don't even have to be meaningful, but just putting a "continue" button down at the end doesn't constitute gameplay... and while the writing had some decent ideas, it really didn't hold up with as much attention as you were giving it. There were too many words, not enough happening, and the jokes were all very obvious and slightly dull.
If you want to make a choose-your-own adventure again at some point, make sure you put a lot more effort into making the writing flow better. Cut out fluff, assume your audience is familiar with cultural tropes - don't explain them.

The start of the game was promising. I was hoping the EULA would have the answers to some puzzles later on, but that expectation didn't pay off. But once the survey ended the game got about as dull as a data entry job.

lkpridgeon 2015-09-06 14:54

amras0000, Yeah I was sorta feeling the same way towards the end. The EULA was going to be extended as I was working on the game to go with it hence the hint of getting a pen and paper at the start.

I know towards the end it got a little off-putting and boring however I do plan to extend and rewrite some of it when I get chance. I never really intended it to be funny so I am sorry that it was rather stale in some areas.

I thank-you for playing and the constructive criticism of which I will take on board.

lkpridgeon 2015-09-06 14:55

Crowbeak, Okay. Thank-you for poiting that out. I will have a look into it when I get chance to. Thank-you for playing and leaving some feedback.

cptalbertwesker 2015-09-08 19:08

Brilliant humor, I got very confused when attending my first meeting I was prompted to edit the passage by double clicking :D

Shame you didn't manage to get it all done, but it was a great idea. Nicely implemented too; I liked the survey that included a question from the EULA.

lkpridgeon 2015-09-10 22:42

cptalbertwesker, Yeah realised the meetings wern't done when I published... (oops) Thank-you for playing and the feedback.

logiclogue 2015-09-14 19:01

Very unique. Really liked it since it wasn't like the other games. The humour kept me hooked. Very well thought out. Really nice job!
