It doesn't really seem to fit the jam theme and it also seems to be lacking in game play. You've got a great basis for a game here, but not a whole lot else.

I like the idea of the swordfish gun. It's hard to score because it's not finished. It's pretty. :)

Haven't rated this as the game doesn't appear to work as intended. Running this on a 64-bit system but all I get is a line I can drive along and bump into swordfish. Game looks nothing like screenshots provided:

@chrissi Yep thanks :) that's what happens when you prioritize graphics over features

hburd 2015-04-21 02:37

@LeftRight92 Strange, I have no idea why it would be doing that

clegamecoop 2015-04-21 02:41

For some reason, the game wasn't playing when I unzipped it. Not sure if that's on my end or not.

leftright92 2015-04-21 04:19

It now works!
Given what's here it's really nicely done, the lighting and particles really help to draw the art style together and the slightly sluggish nature of the controls lend an authentic feel to piloting the submarine. Would love to see a finished version of this.
Also, no in-game sound? :(

cdrch 2015-04-21 04:33

Don't think I can rate this as there isn't a complete game here. The idea is certainly interesting, though the way the submarine handles seems a bit strange (it would seem to rotate almost too easily for how slowly it moves).

Only forward and back keys worked for me on windows 8.

frosty 2015-04-22 04:42

For some reason I find this really compelling without any gameplay. The atmosphere is compelling enough to make me want to explore. The slow pace really works. Add in a bigger variety of sea creatures, especially as you get to the sea floor, and you'll have something really special, I think. Great work. =)

hburd 2015-04-22 20:27

@frosty Awesome, I'm really glad you enjoyed it :) I'm definitely going to keep working on this

dvdfu 2015-04-22 23:36

64-bit download seems to be broken (32-bit worked for me, though). The light effect is pretty cool! The game ran very very slowly for me, though.

hburd 2015-04-23 00:16

@dvdfu Yep, there's a lot of optimization to be done. What sort of specs does your computer have?

hambone88 2015-04-23 00:17

I thought this was a neat idea! Loved the camera rotation.

dvdfu 2015-04-23 00:43

@huga 3.5GHz 8-core, 8GB RAM, AMD Radeon HD 7700. The game ran at a high frame rate, everything just moved very slowly. It may have something to do with delta time calculation, if I had to guess!

dvdfu 2015-04-23 00:44

@huga also, the 64-bit link just didn't seem to load at all, so I didn't manage to download it.

hburd 2015-04-23 00:49

@dvdfu Ok so it wouldn't be your computer then :P I didn't do any delta time though, it's fixed framerate. It could just be the speed of the sub, I made everything slow because it was underwater.

hburd 2015-04-23 00:50

@dvdfo Whoops, it looks like there's an extra h in the http! Thanks for pointing that out!

rudra 2015-04-23 11:28

Very neat and polished idea. Pretty good one !

os_reboot 2015-05-04 21:55

Incredible visuals. If this game had a goal it would be at the top of my list. I'm not joking. Keep it up!

hburd 2015-05-05 22:11

@Os_Reboot Thank you :D I really appreciate your support
