I think its impossible to fail this game, (unless you don't put down towers at all, lol), because you get enough money for 1 extra tower per level, and that extra tower is enough to handle the next wave.
Still! Its an excellent first(ish) game, so well done for that :D Pretty good overall :)
Thanks, I purposefully made it easy because if one creature got past it would take ages to get to the castle and the wait got very boring (believe me, I had to test it). I wanted the game to be a fun experience so people would actually play it. If I had more time I would make it harder but add some sort of double speed mode to make the wait less boring.

Nice little tower defence :) I liked the map too, more character there than in a lot of tower defence games!
I hope you guys like the sprites because I made them and thought they were terrible along with the sound effects XD
I think you should be proud of this being one of your first games! Keep up the good work!
Awesome to see a young developer trying their hand at Ludum Dare, and also one who has the sense to think of a reasonable level of scope to get the game done in time.
The game is solid, but as others have stated, pretty easy (though I did take to hits before I completed the game). One thing that I also saw was that sometimes the tower would shoot pretty far away to hit the enemy was it was walking away, but didn't start shooting until they were fairly close, so I wasn't sure of the actual effective range.
Thanks for your feedback, and yes the towers' projectiles just fly to the furthest forward enemy because of the way I scripted it. I could have fixed it, and probably will eventually, but I was more interested in trying to make a playable game.
Good work!
This is a pretty ok game. Wish it was faster though.
Yes man, you did well. You'll get better with every single game, so keep doing those game jams. :)
Seriously, I wish I had started doing that at 14. Didn't start until two years ago though - but signed up for about 10 since, I believe 5 Ludum Dares and a few of the countless others. Always fun, and it's really cool to see your progression retrospective.

Good start.
I get this error:
"main.py", line 15, in <module>
pygame.error: File is not a Windows BMP file
The map is a bit offset, but pretty nice tower defence.
Tower defence in this game is fun! Nice graphics tho!
Nice one

I played this because it reminds me of the look of a game map I drew in mspaint decades ago, but I didn't learn to code until university, so kudos to you for making a working game. Definitely keep making them.
There seems to be a completion bug: I foolishly let one vehicle escape on Wave 5 (it indeed takes *ages* to reach the end - would be nice if you could do something about that, perhaps detect if a baddie is beyond all the towers, and the player has no more money to place more, and in that case accelerate that vehicle.) Anyway, when it reached the castle, and I presumably should have taken damage, I 'won'.
Wave five is the final wave, you probably had all ten lives left (far too many, i know) and each enemy only takes 1 life. So that wasn't a bug, just a bit of an unclear game.
