Sorry, it didn't work for me. I got the download but couldn't open the application.

Windows 7

It worked for me on Windows 7.

This game was pretty fun, and the dialogue and gameplay were very funny! I think it was pretty well-themed and well done for a very simple game about a red box jumping around the world.

I really wish you didn't have to start over every time you fall in the green stuff.

@Graf_Grun
Can you explain the error you get? Did you install the XNA redistributable?

@zatyka
Yeah, I should have fixed that, especially since the character doesn't always jump when you press the button. It wouldn't even have been that hard.

I can't really see how this fits to the theme in terms of change. While the levels do change, that is too much of a cliche to count as something evolving. Don't get me wrong, the game's fine, but the game's unforgiving when I lose.

Didn't care for the start over the whole game if you die once mechanic. Jumping with the space bar seemed very unreliable and I couldn't get past level 2 after 3-4 attempts, which annoyed me given how easy this game should be. But the controls mess me up.

The map of the game itself is very easy, but 2 things are killing me.
1. Why no revive in the map which I died? Need to start again and again when I Play the game? Of no use.
2. Poor respond to space bar. I need to start when I die, and I always die without any fault. These 2 things exponentially make the game hard.

The collision system isn't correct. If you stand near a wall and try to jump, the rectangle hangs. Sometimes I get stuck in the wall if I jump to it. Additional, if you walk and try to jump, sometimes the character doesn't jump.

Respective the gameplay, you should make lifes or a safepoints at the beginning of the level. Restarting the complete game is not the best option ^^.

I would setup a collision system before Ludum Dare starts and mark it as "personal library". I think it's so basic and time consuming for doing this during a jam.

The evolution of a genre is a nice idea!

Rather interesting. You did some things right. You didn't screw around with a zoomed in screen and make me feel inertia. You didn't throw up retarded graphics in my face to distract me from what I'm meant to be doing. Your sounds didn't rape my ears. It was a pleasant experience as far as those things go. Here are some things you may want to focus on next time: People have already mentioned spacebar not responding all the time, and the fact that you restart the game on each death. Aside from those, I really don't like the controls. I mean, it's fine before the gun comes along and you can just tap space, but I didn't like how I was forces to stretch out my hand to reach the keys when the gun came along. It would have been better to have the key's comfortably next to each other. But yeah, aside from this, your game ain't bad. I hope to see what you can pull off next Ludum Dare.
