+ I liked the zoom in/out controls.
+ I liked the random generation of planets, stars, black holes.
- Instructions/Details on the specific buildings is required.
- I kept running out of money or food, regardless of what I built.
- I played about 10 rounds, but failed all within a minute because of lack of resources.
This is a great start. The zooming in/out system worked great, and you can see the beginning of a really interesting game here.
But the downside of starting with something so ambitious is that I had no idea what I was supposed to be doing! How do I build things? Maybe a tutorial level would help with that?
Anyway I'm curious about where you take this after the competition!

made buildings but never seemed to be able to make money and just get the game over. OK game otherwise.

I liked the game's concept, but it just seems impossible to play it correctly. I kept on losing after placing a few buildings. Money was always the issue for losing and I have no idea how to make money when I'm losing money for doing nothing.

I didn't understand what was happening. As soon as I found an inhabitable planet and started building some stuff, the planet instantly became inhabitable and all my buildings were destroyed. This happened 3 times before I gave up. :(
And having the money tick down was not a great idea, since it took me a long time to figure out what to do, so I went bankrupt the first time out of confusion.
Still, I think the idea is interesting. More development would be good.
