Movement was a little on the slow and tedious side at times, but it was pretty fun overall.
That was a very fun game! I'm quite tired at the moment, so I couldn't get past the room with the first golden key, but I'll make sure to give it another go tomorrow with a fresh mind.
The music and graphics work very well together to compose the mood, and the game looks well finished.
My only suggestion would be to add keyboard controls - for some people this make the game faster to operate or easier to control. Also, maybe add a key to skip the walking animation?
Thanks a lot!
I realised that the movement was a bit slow during the 48 hours, but it was never very high on my to do list because there always seemed to be something more important.
I have continued working on this game though, and one thing I noticed works really well is to have the four buttons around the character instead of in the top left corner, you don't have to move your mouse as much that way.
Another thing is to have the game select 'walk' automatically when there are no other options. This doesn't always feel natural yet, so I still have to work on that.
I've also sped up the walking speed. 4X as fast for the robots and 2X as fast for the player, and I'll also look into keyboard controls. I will post a link to the new version in the comments when it is finished.
Thank you for trying out my game!
WHOA. TURN BASED DUNGEON ESCAPE. This is realllllly awesome! I want you to keep working on this, and I want you to make it as awesome as possible. THIS IS A GREAT IDEA! Good job!
I've never seen a stealth game like this one! The puzzles and mechanics were neat, and the atmosphere was pleasantly dreary.
In addition to the movement speed being faster, I wish there was an undo key. Not just for taking back foolish moves (thought that would be nice) but so that I could cancel out of using a particular item after clicking on it accidentally. Unless there was a way to do this already built in?
Would be glad to see an improved version of this when it's done!
