I don't think you intended to make me load org.inh.JavaError.
Also, how big is this wrt filesize?
How about giving a link to a webstart version? You have a lot more chances of it working for everyone. At least you would gain full java 1.6 support not only from update 10 and newer.
Love it. Was following this one as you wrote it (I'm @voxel on twitter) lots of fun, meets the theme, just not a lot to it. But I'll be damned if I can stop flinging birds around. Some tighter collision detection would be awesome though
I like your bird drawings but the collision seems to be off.
A nice start though :)
Simple but very amusing little game. =P Was fun to randomly fling the birds around.
GreaseMonkey: No, JavaError loads if you have an old version of Java (or maybe something like IcedTea on Linux). But I didn't get around to actually making it, so it just has an error I guess. The filesize of my JAR file is only around 800kb, but the JOGL libraries are some few megabytes (I'm not exactly sure, and it depends on what OS you have). And the whole time Java is downloading this, it just shows a white screen as if nothing is happening (at least in my experience). So that's why I say to be patient and wait to be sure that the download finished and what you think is an error, really is an error.
ruben01: The JNLP file doesn't seem to work but you can try it: http://insertnamehere.org/birdsofprey/applet.jnlp - my stance is that perhaps if you have an old Java you should update; besides missing features, there have also been a lot of security concerns over the last bunch of minor versions.
Cute graphics, but I'm not sure what I should be doing. Are birds the enemy? Do they hurt me if I don't wring their neck in midair? Are you trying to make me a vegetarian?
A pretty good effort, but the game is actually kinda broken, because you can just click on the birds to kill them. Seems to me like the winning strategy is to click the topmost bird to kill them all pretty effortlessly. I like the hand drawn graphics.
