Great music.
I'm really lacking the motivation to fight the enemies. They just stand there and although I know, I will need the XPs later, I'm not motivated to engage in combat.
Loved the music. The bump effect when you hit enemy gives nice feedback.
I liked the audio and in general I'm a fan of roguelike games. The camera shake on the attack was cool. However I wish the tile size had been a little bigger, and in the end the play was a little repetitive.
I keep fighting and fighting, but once i'm caught i have to restart at the first level :(
Also, the blue exit is hard to see.
I like it, it reminds me in some point to the GNOME Bill's game.
Hmm, the basic idea is sound but somehow it doesn't work so well in practice. I think part of the problem is that the game is too random. A lot of the time, the game generates a map with so many enemies blocking the exit that it is impossible to win, even though the player has gained as much XP as possible on previous levels. Then the game devolves to a dominant strategy:
1. clear all the enemies who are blocking the way to the exit
2. if you have 3 or more HP, kill additional enemies until your HP is less than 3
3. go to the exit
And the only way this can be interrupted is if the game generates an unwinnable map (which seems to happen a lot).
Apart from that it's very polished, though.
Seems unfair that the lava is in realtime and I'm turnbased... but that's okay because it's even more unfair that my success or failure is at least 98% chance! It seems like the game needs a smarter level generator to make the levels more fair.
Five in polish for having an extras menu with concept art!
Sound didn't work for me for some reason. I think I have some new RSI in my WASD hand now. :)
ah the problems of random game play, still until you hit the unbeatable levels it was a fun dash from the lava.
I die. I melt and I die. Oh, then I get a level where I walk two steps to finish. A little bit random, and no way to avoid fighting if there's someone in the way - he won't move. Would be neat if I could place a decoy or something to lure enemies around for when I'm too weak to fight. Got a little bit of adrenaline flowing in some cases when the magma was catching up with me.
It's kind of a pain to have to restart to level 1 after dying, but otherwise cool game.
