| Oct 20 16:25:28 | PHOBOS 101 | ♥ 1 | Great game! The music and atmosphere are perfect, and the premise is really intriguing. I love the investigation system, and I think with a few improvements this could work really well as a *Case of the Golden Idol* style game if you ever decide to expand it. It would be cool to have a few more tools to help keep track of everything. Maybe a timeline and an overview of the characters where you can archive established facts about them as you go, rather than only at the end. Uncovering new sources of information as the investigation progresses could also be a nice addition. This entry actually made me want to try making my own investigative game someday! | |
| Oct 21 13:08:58 | 20h 43m | Across The Meridian | ♥ 1 | Cool concept, and a merkhet is definitely old tech! A couple of minutes in, there was a sound effect (or part of the music?) that made me realize this game might be going in a different direction than just trying out an ancient tool. I really enjoyed the ending! I also watched the inspiration video, which I found really intriguing. The idea of playing as an astronomer in ancient Egypt, going about your tasks and making observations while events unfold around you, is great and could easily carry a much bigger game. |
| Oct 21 13:20:44 | 11m 46s | Slam Duck | ♥ 1 | Haha, there’s the elephant in the room! Great first entry! The graphics are lovely, but it’s a bit confusing at first to figure out what you’re supposed to do. Adding a button prompt when you’re near the steering wheel and a little message like “Parts missing” when you first try to drive would help; or just some other kind of small tutorial. I was a bit surprised that the ducks have guns 😄 but they make for great jump ’n’ run enemies! |
| Oct 21 13:27:14 | 6m 30s | The Lost Rifleman | ♥ 1 | The atmosphere is great! Lovely game with some really cool sound effects. I agree with the others that the mouse sensitivity was a bit too low for me. I wonder if a closer camera perspective, or even a first-person view, might suit the game even better. |
| Oct 21 13:30:51 | 3m 37s | The Time Lost Legionnaire | ♥ 0 | Simple game, but everything works quite well! The controls feel good, and the gameplay is fun. I think a few more movement options, especially some faster ones, would make it even more enjoyable. Nice little entry! |
| Oct 21 13:40:21 | 9m 30s | A brief history of media | ♥ 0 | This is an amazing idea and a really cool concept! I enjoyed the walking sim, and I think the mechanic has a lot of potential for a bigger game. |
| Oct 21 13:45:21 | 5m 00s | Beam Racer | ♥ 0 | Great concept and a clever way to integrate old tech into a platformer! The slowdown mechanic is cool, and the reflection is a nice addition. Short but sweet! |
| Oct 21 14:00:09 | 14m 48s | Fliptober: Retro Edition | ♥ 1 | I love the elephant graphics! The whole vibe is really cozy, and the cheeky cheater adds to the charm. |
| Oct 22 13:51:22 | 23h 51m | Bumper Cars Guy | ♥ 1 | Really cute, and always great to see Pico-8! Love the graphics, and the idea of playing as the guy helping the kids is brilliant! The kids' driving skills can be absolutely infuriating though, haha! |
| Oct 22 14:01:07 | 9m 45s | T.O.R.Q | ♥ 1 | I love the startup animation and sound effects! The driving feels really good, but the time limit is pretty unforgiving, and some of the boosters are tricky to hit since they're quite far off the natural racing line. |
