Apr 16 11:01:35 bergs ♥ 2 Awesome game design! I love that you were able to turn a simple mechanic (summoning another player character) into something with so many facets for puzzle design. Art is minimal but cute and has character, it reminds me of some indie games from the mid 2010s. Sound is a little basic, but I appreciate that it is all done during the jam, so props for that!
Apr 16 11:11:17 9m 42s You're Punching Fired!!! ♥ 2 Love the concept, it reminds me of Papers Please. I couldn't progress past day 1 for some reason though, I think I must be missing something. Art style is pretty cool though and the characters are fun and original.
Apr 16 12:07:00 55m 43s Emperor's Gems ♥ 2 Really fun twist on the idle game genre! I played twice, lost the first time and won the second time with 14 seconds to go. Gorgeous graphics, and a fun aesthetic. This game gets a very high score from me!
Apr 21 05:26:03 113h 19m Summoning Survival ♥ 1 Good work for your 2nd jam!
Apr 21 05:35:33 9m 30s Orcs vs Skeletons ♥ 1 The gesture system is really unique and cool! Awesome job for your 2nd jam, esp. considering you had to restart. I will say that the game starts off slightly too difficult.
Apr 25 05:15:09 95h 39m Imagining Dragons ♥ 2 So much content for a jam game! Really impressive stuff. I especially love the art and music.
Apr 25 05:36:43 21m 34s Dungeon Internship ♥ 2 Game takes a while to understand, which is actually quite fun in itself. Reminds me of the game Tunic in that regard. Nice use of the theme. Love the art style!
Apr 25 06:14:31 37m 48s Dead to Rites ♥ 2 Congrats on making your first game in Godot! You should be really proud of that accomplishment. Things I love: - I love the pixel art for the imp and the cultist. - Finding time to add animations is awesome! - The music is great! Loops well and doesn't get annoying. - Casting spells by spelling words on the keyboard is a great idea. - Game UI is comprehensive and includes a lot of features that are usually skipped. - Great use of the theme. - Overall the game is pretty well polished. Things that I think could be developed further imo (if you want to): - I think the villagers hats would look even better with some more shading. - The sand texture could also look even better with more variation to break up the repeating pattern. - The stones are a very nice addition that could be expanded on with things like tumbleweeds, dead bushes and cacti. - Casting spells with the keyboard is something that could be expanded on further as a game mechanic, which is why I think it's such a cool idea. - Game balancing could be adjusted so that the a game session lasts a little bit longer on average. - There does seem to be a minor bug where you can see enemies that are offscreen. Not a big deal for the jam, but if you wanted to develop further it's something you could look at. - It would be very useful to see how much mana each spell costs in the spell menu. - More feedback when enemies are hit. I love the thunderbolt effect, but it only seems to happen when the enemy dies. It would be great if it could happen every time. - More spells and enemy variety would help keep the game fresh and increase the replay value. You could even add waves that steadily increase in difficulty as you keep playing, and gives the player a bit of a break. Things to consider for the next jam: - Viewport size is something that many (including me) struggle to get right when compiling for HTML5, and it's something that becomes harder to fix the later you are in development. I found that the viewport was a little bit on the smaller side.
Apr 25 06:28:08 13m 37s Birb World Tour: Royale ♥ 2 Doesn't really fit the theme, but the game is great! Really fun gameplay, cute and pleasing graphics. Soundtrack goes stupid hard! Overall a pretty highly scored game for me.
Apr 25 07:20:22 52m 14s Duck Invasion ♥ 1 I love the duck sprite! The game is simple, but pretty enjoyable! I'm not sure if the slow movement acceleration was intentional or not. I can see the merit of having hard to control, slippery, almost chaotic movement, but I feel like it could be refined a bit further.
Apr 25 07:38:44 18m 22s Phoenix Delay ♥ 1 Gorgeous graphics, animations, effects and audio! The soundtrack is a bop. The dialog box is so well done. Those aspects are nothing short of professional quality. I feel like the controls are a little awkward. IMO the forward momentum should always be applied, and since gravity is already always applied there should only really be 1 movement button (up) which you could remap to "space" or "left click: I understand if this was a time limit thing, but there should be a meter that limits the number of boosts you can do that resets either over time or by picking up an item. I was a little confused why you get a speed boost when you run into other birds (bugs?). I guess if they're supposed to be bugs it's a bit like the bird eats the bugs and gets an energy boost? Some kind of progress meter would be great as well, since I had no idea how long the game would go for. Sadly the embedded game isn't working for me either. _Edit: after a refresh the embedded game works_
Apr 25 07:51:30 12m 46s Summoner's Rifft ♥ 4 Great game! Impressive that in the time given you were able to add such an epic intro sequence and so many upgrades and enemy variety. Overall the game feels pretty solid and polished. If there's one thing I think the game would benefit from it would be having visual and audible feedback when the player is damaged. A split second red filter on the player texture and a sound effect would be the sort of thing that would make it more obvious when you get hit.
Apr 25 08:17:14 25m 44s Castle Romantik ♥ 2 Solid Dorfromantik style game! While the gameplay might not be the most original, the execution is done well. Nice choice for graphics, and the audio is tasteful and relaxing. Animations are satisfying and smooth. It would have been nice to see some changes from Dorfromantik.
Apr 25 08:51:17 34m 03s Chimera Combat ♥ 3 April 25 Screenshot.png I thought I was unbeatable, but one good hit was the end of me! Fun and original game! My main criticism is that some of the text on some cards has extremely low contrast, making it very difficult to read.
Apr 25 11:17:51 2h 26m Ritual of the Meek ♥ 2 This kept me busy for a while, but it was very satisfying when I beat the game. What a great puzzle game! One of the most polished and playable games I've seen come out of the compo this year, aside from a few (minor) bugs.
Apr 25 11:34:18 16m 27s Siege Wizard ♥ 1 Woohoo, I'm the new king! Screenshot 2024-04-25 at 9.32.04 PM.png Cute little game! Love the style and the concept. I did have some graphical issues with the player character unfortunately, and the health meter of the walls is totally not obvious. Screenshot 2024-04-25 at 9.32.52 PM.png
Apr 25 11:47:31 13m 13s Parmigiano Rolliano ♥ 4 This _easily_ wins the best humour category. Possibly best audio as well! Geez even the graphics are top notch. Really my only suggestion is that I found the controls to be a little awkward with a keyboard due to the directions not exactly matching the arrow keys. I imagine with a joystick or even touch screen with swiping it would work really well.
Apr 25 13:07:23 1h 19m Drawn to Summon ♥ 1 Nice! Cute little game, reminds me of something from Mario Party! I'm on a trackpad and my best score was 97. Graphics and effects are really well done, and I love the choice of music. I'd love it if when you drew something really badly it summoned something truly horrific and monstrous.
Apr 28 03:40:56 62h 33m Ocean Screensaver for Windows 4K ♥ 2 It's really nice to see something completely original here! Visuals are calm and pleasing, and the game nicely fits the summoning theme. IMO I think you would see more downloads if the game were playable via HTML5 rather than only via a screensaver file (.scr files have a bad reputation for containing malware). You might also benefit from having a GIF of gameplay, to dispel the idea that it's just a completely idle screensaver with no interaction. High points for innovation, graphics and mood!
