| Apr 16 16:15:39 | Dry Season | ♥ 5 | First game I'm playing this LD55, and such a nice one! The QWER took me a while to get used to, it might be nicer to have the notes scroll vertically (I don't look that far ahead at least) - like rain drops :P I also love the villagers + lightning mechanic, and the art style is fitting. The fonts on the opening screen and between levels are very basic and too large for me, perhaps they are not loading properly? Screenshot from 2024-04-16 18-19-00.png How did you make the notes line up so tightly with the audio? I'm assuming you just play the audio file, do you need to actively synchronize or can you just animate the notes based on time? | |
| Apr 16 16:30:38 | 14m 59s | The wizard penguin | ♥ 3 | Polished game, I like the zoom-out effect at the start. Gameplay-wise I'd switch up the combinations for spells after a while, spamming is too easy without even looking at the enemies. Or incentivize not casting a certain spell because a power-up is incoming that you would destroy with that color. There are lots of other options of course, like giving bonus points for a wave destroying many enemies at once, hit points for some enemies so you need to cast the same wave multiple time to destroy it, having mixed colors (waves that destroy multiple enemy types/enemies that die from multiple wave types), etc. Cool submission! |
| Apr 16 16:42:19 | 11m 41s | Mana Tactics | ♥ 2 | Hello fellow Godot enjoyer! The programmer art is strong with this one but it's a cool concept! The info in the top bar is clear, info mode would have been a lower priority for me. For the UI I'd suggest using right-click to move a unit, and have some hotkeys for the different spells. Unit-wise I think it would be nice to have some variety in the costs of units (mixed resources) but I like the different strengths of the units that you have. The game could be nice for a bot programming contest :) |
| Apr 16 17:03:10 | 20m 51s | Hat vs Evil | ♥ 1 | Super enjoyable game, it took me way too long to realize the resources were not created by me (by pressing E in the right places?) or random chance, but were actually loot drops. The motion of the hat is nice and fluid. Some extra suggestions: give the player the ability to create a preset-combination of resources to summon in one click, and the ability to destroy existing towers (perhaps I missed how this is possible?). I accidentally placed a few towers in nice locations with only a few resources, and no way to improve this later. Screenshot from 2024-04-16 19-00-14.png |
