Dec 3 18:04:12 Experiment 46 ♥ 1 I had a lot of fun with this one! A couple levels felt like they went on for a bit too long (like the one towards the end where you had to build a staircase from your bodies on the floating spikes could have been shortened by one or two spikes) but it was enjoyable getting to watch my progress throughout the level! Additionally: You should probably put your source code in a different download, and mark it as source code, or you might be disqualified from the compo.
Dec 4 00:32:56 6h 28m Give Up/Down ♥ 2 Interesting game! A note that you might consider if you decide to continue this project after LDJAM is that the game is currently very awkward to play on English keyboards. An alternate control scheme where you move the player with A-W-D instead of Q-Z-D would be much appreciated! I thought the ability to choose where you go by who you sacrificed was a cool design choice, though it was a little unclear what each option would do ahead of time. Thank you for participating!
Dec 4 00:47:32 14m 36s Timmy The Wizard ♥ 1 Cool game! I had a lot of fun with this one. The ending actually had me crack up! A couple implementation notes: * First off, the enemy spellcasting sound effect sounds good when it's just one enemy playing it, but when every enemy in the level plays it at the same time it becomes super shrill. I'd recommend offsetting when enemies cast their spells, having enemies get quieter the farther away the camera is from them, or both. * Second, the camera lerping to the character's position gives the game a very polished feel (congrats on that -- this game FEELS complete in a way many LDJAM games do not) but it comes at the expense of being able to see where you're going. In order to have the best of both worlds, I'd recommend having the camera lerp to the player's position, PLUS the direction of their velocity. That way you'll be able to see where you're going better! Again, I really did like this one! The level design was interesting, the art was very well-done, and I had a good time playing throughout! Thank you for participating in LDJAM :)
Dec 4 05:28:58 4h 41m Cat-Astrophe ♥ 4 This is a ridiculous amount of polish for a jam game. I can intellectually understand how you probably implemented each individual part of this game, but to put all of it together in such a short amount of time is a herculean effort. Stunning work. Bravo. One minor note: the level with six/seven layers of cannons went on for a bit long. I got that it was supposed to be a final level with a higher level of difficulty, and when I did get to the end I felt accomplished, but I felt like it could have been a little shorter.
Dec 4 06:31:02 1h 02m Space Goat: Coast to Coast ♥ 1 Didn't quite understand what was happening but had a blast anyways. I'd never seen a control scheme like that before, but once I started playing it made sense immediately. Thank you for participating in LDJAM!
Dec 4 18:21:35 11h 50m Dungeon of Friendship ♥ 2 Killer mood, loved the idea of sacrificing character abilities to progress. It gave this great dynamic where, by the end, even getting across a room became a puzzle. I never considered leaving a character behind. Thank you for participating in LDJAM!
Dec 16 15:27:39 285h 06m Slow Food Burger ♥ 1 Great sense of humor. Locking the main character in jail for multiple minutes for nothing to do was a bold decision that really paid off comedy-wise. Thank you for participating in LDJAM!
