| May 10 19:45:58 | Dystopian Circuit Board | ♥ 0 | I really enjoyed the art style, it felt really fun and arcadey. I also though that the puzzles looked interesting, but sadly, I had trouble interacting with the game. The movement felt really unresponsive, and the game didn't give me much feedback for my actions. If these issues were fixed, I would love to give it another play. The puzzles really do look interesting, they just need to give the player more feedback as to what they're doing wrong. | |
| May 10 19:58:36 | 12m 38s | Planet of Babel | ♥ 1 | The graphics were really awesome, I really loved the style. I'm pretty interested in how they were accomplished. The gameplay seems like it may be fun, but it needs to give the player more feedback. I found it very hard to keep track of what units had and had not been moved each turn, and where they were going. |
| May 10 20:32:18 | 33m 42s | Factions | ♥ 1 | I really enjoyed the game thoroughly. I found the gameplay and graphics style very fun. I did find that some parts were a bit frustrating, as it seemed the enemies could control much faster than I could. The AI was of an appropriate difficulty to not make this troublesome, but I would rather see smarter AI with more human-like reactions. I found that the music, while fun, got stale sort of fast. I didn't mind the silly style, but I wish the loop would be a bit longer, or there would be variety between levels. I also found a bug. On the second to last level, after a few minutes of play, the game got very slow. During this time, all units stopped spawning, and it became very hard to control mine. This happened again on the last level, but with a lesser performance drop. Something else that I noticed was that when you try to select units on the edge of the planet, they often aren't selected. I don't know if this is intended, but I would like to see it changed. These issues, aside from the unit spawning bug, didn't detract much from the game. It was definitely one of the funnest games of LD38! |
| May 10 20:40:30 | 8m 12s | Small World Mining Company | ♥ 1 | I didn't understand the idea of the game. It seemed like the placement of the resources and movement of the monsters was random. This felt sort of unsatisfying to me, as it was basically as though I was just waiting for the monster to move so I can get to tiles I hadn't tried yet. The sound was a bit harsh, but I thought it fit. In the future, you may want to tone it down. If there was a way to figure out where the resources are, or a way to deal with the monsters, I feel it could be much more fun. I did really enjoy the graphics though. With a few changes this could be a really fun little game. |
| May 13 17:05:01 | 68h 24m | Blomst 🌻 | ♥ 2 | I really enjoyed the game! The graphics were beautiful, and the music was very relaxing. I sort of wish there was some SFX in the game though. I thought that the cells for plant placement made the game feel too restrained for what it is. If I'm playing a relaxing game, I don't want all these limitation, I wanna be able to place flowers wherever I want :D! I also noticed that you move faster going diagonal than up/down/left/right. Otherwise, great game! |
| May 13 17:24:10 | 19m 09s | Meteor Mania | ♥ 1 | Fun little game! I liked the music and SFX a lot. The graphics were a really fun style. I thought that rotating the whole frame of reference as a player went around the world felt sort of dizzying. I also found it frustrating that I had so little time to react to meteors not on my side of the planet. I think a camera centered on the center of the planet, with a square viewport, would feel much better. All together fun game though, good job! EDIT: I just played a bit more and got the high score. Delete the bullets after they get out of range of the planet. I don't believe you do. That led to an immense slowdown after spamming the double upgraded machine gun, allowing me to play much slower/easier. |
