Dec 15 14:17:00 Kitty Glacier Surfing Nice job! The infinite map generation works well. The controls are a bit wonky but it's still playable - plus with some skill there's some mad jumps to be made :D Also the powerups work fine and seem to be well balanced.

My main suggestion would be to tweak the physics/controls a bit and use more consistent art style (graphics+sound) ; other than that it's a pretty good entry.
Dec 15 15:17:00 1h 00m Choppy Crop The control scheme is very clever, nice job! The farming system is also pretty intuitive, the in-game messages were pretty useful to teach how to play (on top of being funny).

It was fun trying to figure out how to manage my crops efficiently, but either I'm bad at it or there are a few balancing issues - I gave up after 15mn and 260 crops. The main problem to me is that half-grown crops sometimes produce 1 crop only in return, meaning I have planted them in vain.

Now you had me playing for 15mn so I can't deny it, overall the game was fun :)
Dec 16 20:41:00 29h 24m There's Always a Bigger... I didn't expect much from the screenshots, but it was a surprisingly fun game! I managed to squeeze out a decent 62359 after a few attempts.

The graphics are quite simplistic but the background circles make the whole thing work. And the controls are tight too.

Overall it's a really nice, minimal take on both themes, congrats :)
Dec 16 20:50:00 9m 00s Holiday Rejects Nice idea, perfectly executed. Props for using a physics engine to make things more lively (& hard?), plus the burning package animation is pretty well done.

(Side note: I didn't rate the audio since I understood that it wasn't made during the jam... ?)
Dec 16 21:08:00 18m 00s 01 A very nice and original idea, but it indeed feels raw and unfinished. The main issues being:

* Lack of a way to cancel the current line without deleting the whole program (...AFAIK)
* This plus the slow responsiveness that make inputs prone to errors is quite frustrating
* Why 8 bits? 4 bits would have sufficed I think, with some tweak of the LOADVAL command.
* The opcodes being off screen, I have to progam the whole thing without actually looking at the game. Displaying them as a post-it sticked to the computer instead would have been a good alternative.

Now I still managed to reach the 3rd level! It's a pretty inspiring entry, which I could have enjoyed a lot with some more polish.

Also if you don't already own it, you probably want to check out TIS-100 by Zachtronics :)
Dec 16 21:17:00 9m 00s SHOOT'N GROW My eyes bleed, but the upgrate mechanic is top notch! Except it would have been better to put the text closer to the center of the screen, to prevent quick back and forths of the eyes between the fast-paced, chaotic gameplay and the store.
Dec 16 21:20:00 3m 00s Growing Stones Même avis que Geckoo, pourquoi ne pas packager un exécutable ? C'est plus ou moins la norme pour Ludum Dare. Autrement peu de gens auront le courage de tester ton jeu !
Dec 17 08:09:00 10h 49m Don't Mess With Totems A really cool game with nice graphics ;)
Dec 18 09:48:00 25h 39m Drought An excellent entry in terms of graphics/UI! It was really pleasant to interact with this game. Figuring out how the different tiles work was interesting too.

Like others said the downside is mostly the lack of balance: after 105 days I was nowhere near a shortage of food, and that includes the ~50 days of me discovering the mechanics.

Adding more difficulty and maybe tweaking the hand system for less randomness could have done wonders. Not saying it would be an easy task though - it reminds me of this post about the whole game design history of "Threes!": http://asherv.com/threes/threemails/
Dec 18 10:06:00 18m 00s Cutesadoopsi Spent some qualit time on the phone listening to my ranting co-worker while I fill my place with poop. 10/10
Dec 18 10:39:00 33m 00s Star Warrior Really impressive work on the graphics, it felt like playing the first Tron movie on an old VHS :) Everything is nice about the art: the worm and its animation, the ships, the scenery... The Dune inspiration is awesome, but on the downside the reuse of Star Wars assets feels too obvious.

Gameplay-wise it almost works.

I'm impressed by the clever challenge of gathering all conditions to land a hit: a successful shot requires to be in the right direction, to have the time to load the shot, to release it while the worm is out, AND while I'm high enough on a dune, AND from a long enough range to steer away from the worm in time... This I can get behind, but when I realize I'm unable to put any kind of decent distance between myself and the worm, this becomes very frustrating!

I ragequit after about 15 attempts - I think I managed to hit him 3 times once, but I'm not sure how much life it has or even if it can die.

Overall congrats on this entry: it was well done and well polished, all it lacked I think was some playtesting to help you balance difficulty a bit and add some better feedback regarding the worm. I'd love to play a post-compo version :)
Dec 18 10:43:00 4m 00s A Striangle Journey I can't run the game unfortunately, I get a error about a missing "ucrt.terminate" in "api-ms-win-crt-runtime-l1-1-0.dll". (Windows 7 + disabled Avast)
Dec 18 10:47:00 4m 00s Big Dick Super Marathon 3 meters and 10.25 centimeters on my first attempt.

That is all.
Dec 18 10:55:00 8m 00s Last Minute Beard I'm skeptical about the realism of your beard physics!

That was a pretty fun and bite-sized experience, nice job.

Also please don't fix the bug where the guy remains stuck on "gnnnnn" if you're busy growing a beard when the timer runs out ;)
Dec 18 11:07:00 12m 00s The bugged game Whoa that was buggy.

I think I finished the game... by reaching the white limbo with no one left to evade...

I feel like I just took drugs or something
Dec 18 11:22:00 15m 00s Christmas Eve Late Delivery Service The controls didn't work for me on the WebGL version, so I fellback to the Windows build.

Best score is 524! There are some good ideas, among them that's a detail but I especially liked the "3D UI" where lines and text pass by, the yellow "Record" line being a nice touch.

The gameplay itself is a bit confusing, especially since I don't have much feedback on whether I managed to reach the target or not.
Dec 18 11:31:00 9m 00s Ultimate Sky Horse Rider 270 :)

Awesome theme and music! The gameplay is simple but works well.
Dec 18 11:45:00 14m 00s Judge or jump ! Very good idea, the setting and interactions (making fly people to the left or right) work really well.

The downside is, like others said you should have made it more obvious whether a person is good or bad, or at least shown us the incorrect choice so that we learn from our mistakes. Here the learning curve is quite low because of those things.

It's already quite fun but with some more polish this could make an excellent little game! All in all nice job :)
Dec 18 11:54:00 9m 00s Snowman's Christmas Everything I could hope from a Ludum Dare entry: a short yet solid game with a good gameplay, quality graphics & audio, and good effort down to the details (menus, cutscenes...).

Congrats to both of you!
Dec 18 12:30:00 36m 00s Elevator Game Despite being on Windows it says I need love.dll unfortunately.
Dec 18 12:41:00 11m 00s Laser Jump FTW First I was "meh?", then I started to get the hang of it, and I started to see how glorious it was. Graphics are uneven, but the gamplay is fun, a kind of "Super Hexagon" fun.

Thank you for leading me through pain and epileptic seizures to an eventually satisfying victory.
Dec 18 13:11:00 30m 00s Growth of the Hive I had a hard time at first figuring out how to make the game works: I launched the tutorial, but there was no unit I was able to move around, just the queen.

After retrying a couple times a group of creatures eventually popped and started moving around. I thought they would attack my queen, but I eventually realized I could select them! I managed to complete the level by moving them around to kill all the mobs I could find :)

I then switched to another map, and tried to kill again some mobs with my units, but I gotta admit I still had no idea what was the difference between each unit or how the building system works, or how resource managements works. Too bad because it seems like intricate systems have been made. But you know the saying: "if it's not documented it doesn't exist".

You should probably try to make a few friends of yours try the game without any more explaining than what you gave us, you'll quickly realize how the gameplay is less obvious when seed from the outside :P

Code-wise, the amount of work is really impressive though. Minimaps, fog of war, pathfinding, UI, tile-based maps for terrain AND hex-based maps for buildings, all withing 3 days? Wow. Really, wow.

And the art style is nice too, in a retro way. Overall it feels a bit like old games such as Starcraft and Diablo. Best played on a 800x600 resolution ;)
Dec 18 13:48:00 37m 00s RAGH! I found the art style strange in a good way, I really liked how things looked. The trajectories of missiles and moons also add to it.

The gameplay works, but I've gotta admit I found it slightly boring, as it was all about grinding for 90% of the game (nothing chasing me, no difficulty or strategy, just grabbing things to fill a bar). At the end it got a bit more challenging for a couple seconds, as a few missiles took me by surprise and made me lose some of my mass.

One detail was that I thought there was one last upgrade to reach before I could crash into the planet ; since nothing happened when the bar was filled, and the "Upgrade" arrow stayed there, I eventually tried my luck (and fortunately I won ;P).

It's a good entry both on a graphical and a technical level, all it lacked to me was some difficulty gameplay-wise. Congrats!
Dec 18 15:06:00 1h 18m Temple of Gh'Ro I am finally exploring the infinite abyss!!!

Very impressive compo entry, the graphics are perfect (I love the square backpack idea), the gameplay is really well explored and the level design is well done.

The game is really hard, but the good thing is that in most places its difficulty is indeed fair (except for a couple specific spots, like http://marwane.kalam-alami.net/ld34/misc/coll.png). I also found pretty impressive how almost each step during your progress requires a new skill from the player.

I can understand though that it the platforming can feel a bit annoying, mostly for instance that "Jump" + "Arrow" doesn't yield the same thing as "Jump" => "Arrow when at max height". Once you acknowledge that, the controls get easier to grasp, but until then it can feel frustrating and random. Also, the keyboard mapping hurts a bit!

Overall you're right, the game's not broken, it's a brilliant entry that brought me the same kind of satisfaction as Super Meat Boy. And like Super Meat boy, the game was much easier to play on the second playthrough, so you definitely got me better at platforming games :)

BONUS: I dare you to watch this whole thing without skimming trough it. Get a taste of my tears working my way through your game: http://marwane.kalam-alami.net/ld34/misc/watch-me-die.mp4
Dec 18 15:38:00 32m 00s Growing Ties 157- Hey there's a performance chart! Neato.

A very original and unexpectedly fun game.
Dec 19 14:57:00 23h 19m Monster Factory Good game, I like the music and graphics
Dec 19 14:59:00 2m 00s Two button controls It took me 30mn but I managed to beat the game. Fantastic.

Only downside is, I don't see the link with the theme?
Dec 20 21:31:00 30h 32m World Muncher I found the idea very original, but the heavy controls and the balancing issues really hurt the game I think... It just wasn't very fun to play.

Too bad because the game works well (no bugs) and with just some tweaks to controls, creature spawn & object sizes it could have been great. Oh and a health bar too.
Dec 20 21:38:00 7m 00s 1minuteBaby My boy "Lucious Dare" has just been born! (Seriously I can't tweet that :P)

Short and simple, it was interesting to figure out how the game works. I got a perfect baby on my second attempt - please don't quote me out of context.

Congrats for this nice little entry! I wish you the best for Circles!
Dec 20 21:48:00 10m 00s Forest Drift I stopped at 33 after drifting in circles for a while - I felt like I could stand for a long time, but maybe the car slowly accelerates?

The idea is good, but at the current state it's pretty basic. It lacks some more features to make it more fun and challenging.

The game works well though, and this minimal pixel art looks good!
Dec 23 11:43:00 61h 55m FRUITWOLF I love the mood of this game, from the art style, the little polished animations for the fruits & enemies, to the playful & really fitting soundtrack.

The gameplay works well, but it grows a bit repetitive after a while. Now I'm assuming difficulty or strategy were not the real goals of the game, which seems to focus more (and successfully!) on making us discover a little world with strange creatures.

Congratulations to all three of you!
