Apr 22 15:32:00 Bottom : Unconventional Weapons at bug scale That was fun! I like the rotation element as a potential for changing game mechanics and strategy and it was fun to have the whole world rotate when you move. I would have liked to see that world rotation effect the strategy to a greater degree. The arrow keys also weren't as responsive as they could have been.
Apr 22 15:32:00 0s The morning type Hey the link wont work for me, it says: "You don't have permission to access /content/ld32/ on this server."
Apr 22 15:48:00 16m 00s God's Going to Cut Em Down Awesome art style and very interesting and unique world! I particularly like the image of the girl lying in bed. I was disappointed that the sex was completely implied and just skipped entirely. That's the best part! Also when she asks what you want, they all lead to the same response, so why have a choice there? Last, I wanted some more choices near the end, like charging Mary for riding in my truck.
Apr 22 15:56:00 8m 00s Fireman vs Zombies The game wont play for me. After I open the application it says it wasnt started correctly and then immediately closes.
Apr 22 16:20:00 24m 00s Aora, Spirit of Nature Hey really awesome submission! Love the art. the background and environment is beautiful, especially with the atmospheric music! I also enjoyed navigating the world with the hawk ability. Some stuff I didn't like: to me the character felt too slow. I would have liked to have seen my characters health. It would have been nice to hear auditory ques when I take damage. After the 3rd save stone, I felt a little bored as the wanderlust waned, as there was little variation in the environment and nothing new mechanically was introduced.
Apr 22 17:41:00 1h 21m Quadrata lux Cool! Interesting mechanic. I would suggest adding some more rewarding feedback for hitting the green things, and getting a new ability. Also I wasn't sure why I ran out of blocks to throw, maybe have a number that shows how many you have left. The health mechanic was a cool feature, how the games colors show you your health amount.
Apr 22 18:03:00 22m 00s Wounded by Words Its obvious a huge amount of work went into this game, the art and sound are fantastic. I can see there is a deep intricate story as well. I started to read the story, but then I just started to click as fast as I could to skip the whole thing. I think it's a mistake to put so much exposition at the beginning of a game, before the player is invested in the mechanics. I usually skip text unless I've already been pulled in by the game. Would this not have been better as a manga or anime? I got all the way to the end just clicking as fast as I could(Granted, it was the bad ending). My suggestion is if you're going to make a game, tell the story with the game mechanics.
Apr 22 18:08:00 5m 00s Stop the Goblin Army Awesome, made me laugh! Love driving into the goblin pins. I felt it got old quick though, and it was too easy to get a strike. Maybe adding some obstacles to get in the way of the car and making the board wider might help.
Apr 22 18:15:00 7m 00s Discharge Amazing! I really felt scared of the lighting cloud. wonderful environment, reminds me so much of Polyfauna, the Radiohead/Thom Yorke App. I would definitely recommend you check that out, they create a wonderful environment through Thom's trippy music. Throwing the tree was cool too. Good work!
Apr 22 19:00:00 45m 00s Jump Gun Really great game feel, and a fun, interesting mechanic of shooting yourself up to higher heights. I could see a lot of fun things develop from that simple mechanic, and potential variations on it. Very nice entry! Maybe the gold squares should give more reward for collecting them.
Apr 22 19:10:00 10m 00s Bookshelf Brawl Very cool! Great music and sound effects. Good work!
Apr 22 19:22:00 12m 00s Bard! Great job! That's a lot of work you put into this. Cool character design, and I love the guitar solo magic attack! It does feel like a missed opportunity to have a game about fighting with musical notes and not having any sound. Also the parallax is a bit jarring. I would also recommend keeping the dead bodies of enemies around, it gives a sense of progression and "badassery". A couple bugs to note: At one point the enemies stopped showing up, and my character wouldn't stop moving to the left. But like I said, a wonderfully themed game and great visual designs. Keep it up!
Apr 22 19:35:00 13m 00s payload Cool idea, and a good entry. I was confused in the beginning though, its always nice to teach the player in the first level rather than having them have to read the help screen. I did get bored rather quickly however, perhaps add some rewarding feedback for destroying the goal block.
Apr 22 19:42:00 7m 00s Star Driller Ultra Great design! Nice audio and visuals, reminds me of some old space piloting games. I really like the alternating pitches of when your fuel is depleted. One problem I had, was the words for who your target locked onto is slower than the camera.
Apr 22 19:48:00 6m 00s Your Opinion, Adventurer? An interesting Idea. I feel the gameplay was lacking, because I just clicked Yay to everything and won. I don't like reading text unless I know it will impact how I play the game and if I have some investment in the world/mechanics. A score is just a number, challenging gameplay makes that number have meaning.
Apr 22 19:55:00 7m 00s Lord of Spiders Good job with the coding and controls! Some nice crunchy bug sounds could really improve the feel of the fighting. The combat was a little unclear about how you attack fast at first, then slow, and two different colored health bars that I wasn't sure what they meant. It became repetitive really quick though. That said, it's still a really great submission, and I love the concept.
Apr 22 20:06:00 11m 00s THUMP Great visuals and physics. I like the idea behind the game play too, but I think it could have been developed more. The loud, high pitch charging noise was too grating on my ears. Also I don't think I was able to euthanize those little drones on purpose, every time I tried to knock one in it would just bounce out. I would say the theme was confusing and the goal unclear in the beginning.
Apr 22 21:16:00 1h 10m Gift Of The Gods Fun! I liked it a lot, controls and movement feel great. I refreshed it to get a new weapon, but all I got was toast... but I like toast so its cool.
Apr 23 16:16:00 19h 00m Frazzle Dazzle Awesome game! Fun mechanic of the jump hover, and nice theme. Controls were solid.
Apr 23 17:10:00 54m 00s Crump Rush Great entry! Music works very nice. Some things I didn't enjoy: The self propulsion by explosion was definitely finicky and didn't behave how I wanted. The death sound was really loud and abrasive. It would have been easier on the eyes to have the screen fade in and out after dying. Last, the difficulty spiked up when you introduced the blades. The level of precision needed in that first blade level felt too high compared to the lack of precision needed with the earlier levels. That being said, I still really enjoyed myself and like this game a lot!
Apr 23 17:23:00 13m 00s EXECUTION I love the art and music, works very well together. However I thought the message was completely surface level and cliche, no deep meaning for me. What is the message, "Don't execute people"? I have no alternatives in this game, other than just waiting and getting no feedback or, doing what every player will do, trying to interact with the game. Emotional string pulling is manipulation and I found no insight into life or relevancy in this game's concept.
Apr 23 17:29:00 6m 00s Billy McMath Solves Problems Great drawings, great characters!
Apr 23 17:35:00 6m 00s Fish SLAP: Quest for the Princess Fish I like the enemy characters! We both have a Top hatted and monocled sea creature enemy in our games x)
Apr 23 17:42:00 7m 00s Not My Panties! Game crashes when I press Play on my PC
Apr 23 17:48:00 6m 00s LIGHT Love the graphics and sounds cape, Puzzles needed a bit more to keep me interested.
Apr 23 17:55:00 7m 00s Super SALT Helmet Very nice game, fun movement and high level of aesthetics. I love the screen transitions between levels. I think you should have the player not be able to hold his power indefinitely, or else the foo strategy becomes to just stay held down until an enemy makes the first move. Good work!
Apr 23 18:04:00 9m 00s You Are Tim Love the character sprite and sound/music worked extremely well for the game. The puzzles taught me everything well in the beginning, but it felt stale and repetitive towards the end.
Apr 23 18:18:00 14m 00s Mirror Mirror Nice music and smooth controls! It would be nice to have a pick up mirror btn, and a rotate mirror other direction btn. I felt on the level with a ton of mirrors that I knew the solution instantly, and I couldn't turn the mirrors as fast as I would have liked, b/c I couldn't choose the direction. I felt that the gemstones and Boo looking ghosts didn't thematically fit together, it seemed like random elements. The being said, I still really enjoyed myself!
Apr 23 18:33:00 15m 00s Rhythm Gunner Great music!
