| Aug 25 13:07:00 | CellEvolution | Web version couldn't load any of the files, so crashed. | |
| Aug 27 12:18:00 | 47h 11m | 'The Neon Pink Philosophy' | Haha. A great game, very polished feeling. I only got 399 points (the bulk of them in levels 1 + 2), so I can't comment on the "true ending", but what I saw of the cutscenes was very funny and enjoyable.
Difficulty? Pretty hard to get 700 points.
Music? the backing track got a bit repetitive after a while, but it suited the feeling of the game.
Graphics? The neon theme was nice and bright. Only problem was probably my own incometence: I kept thinking my gun-sight thing was an enemy, and tried to avoid it.
Fun? Very.
BUT:
It wouldn't exit? I tried escape, but it didn't do anything. So, it took away from the polished feeling a little bit.
Also, some green squares appeared too close to the spikey obstacles to be obtainable without harming yourself.
Highlight? Definately when Fred evolved the final time. I feel a meme coming on. |
| Aug 27 12:19:00 | 1m 00s | DrinkMilk | XNA D: Sorry, can't play it. It looks good though! |
| Aug 27 12:30:00 | 11m 00s | Threevolution | Haha. A great little puzzler. At first, when I didn't understand the rules, I managed to block off the leftmost column with just the smallest organism, leaving me with just a 3x4 grid. I struggled ahead, and won. Loved the ending screen! |
| Aug 27 13:00:00 | 30m 00s | Goat Boxing | I liked the "meaaah"ing sounds. But it seemed impossible to breed definitively better goats. Got stuck at Frank.
Perhaps make it possible to buy goats? A new goat every time you go into the shop, with random stats? It might make it a little more interesting, and stop me breeding Goat 3 with its father Goat 1. |
| Aug 27 13:02:00 | 2m 00s | Kitten Farts | I would play the game, but I'm not too comfortable installing all of those things... Sorry! It looks great, and the title is the best I've seen yet! |
| Aug 27 13:22:00 | 20m 00s | Moustache & Mukset | D: My inner Grammar Nazi exploded at the start screen...
The game is a nice idea, but even on the 'Low' version, it didn't run very well on my PC.
The controls weren't quite optimal. Aiming was very difficult, because the units simply didn't do what you wanted.
I liked the graphics style though :D
The highlight was definitely the Mister Bean voice-acting. |
| Aug 27 13:31:00 | 9m 00s | My Apartment | Score 771. I have no idea what that means?
Very funny. "This is not the Sims" whenever you try to go into the bathroom, "Windows needs to install updates". And then just leaving my poor mother on the sofa asking for coffe for 12 hours.
One note: The words ran off the ends of some of the text boxes. Also, how on earth do you get self-esteem? |
| Aug 27 13:56:00 | 25m 00s | GeometryEvo | I really liked it. The piano-key 'music' really suited the mood, and I laughed at the stages of evolution. But I sometimes wasn't sure what I was doing, and whether I'd won or lost... |
| Aug 27 14:12:00 | 16m 00s | SURVIVE | It's a fantastic looking game, of that I have no doubt. But gameplay-wise, I had little idea what was going on. And yes, the sound wasn't quite perfect :P |
| Aug 27 14:42:00 | 30m 00s | Dinosaurs must Die! | Haha. That was great. I absolutely loved the Mar Might storyline, was laughing for ages. Unfortunately I forgot to put my earphones in, so I can't rate on audio.. (I don't even know if there was any?). Sorry about that!
A very good game, with the two parts being completely different. The dinosaur part was pretty hard (I lost D:).
Very fun, would recommend it! |
| Aug 27 14:55:00 | 13m 00s | Darwin In Space | Haha. This is... quite something. I have to ask, why do the priests have flashy blue cyber-eyes? |
| Aug 27 15:00:00 | 5m 00s | Growing Tree | I like this game. It's quirky and unique. My only complaint is that it's hard to see what's happening at times, so dodging things can be difficult. Because of that, I didn't get past fire D:
I liked that little tuney-thing going on in the background. |
| Aug 27 15:13:00 | 13m 00s | EVILUTION | This was great. Being nervous of what's around every corner, while being pushed on by the fear of the enemies behind you. It was a great experience, but didn't really fit the theme... at all? |
| Aug 27 15:14:00 | 1m 00s | terravolve | It looks good, but I'm on XP. Perhaps you should rename the link "Windows Vista or Higher" or something? |
| Aug 27 15:22:00 | 8m 00s | Kitty Breeder 2012 | 10 stars for theme, it fits both Evolution and 1000kittens :D
The soundtrack was ace.
The graphics were great, especially the picture of the kittie when you pick it up.
Really polished feeling. Well done! |
| Aug 29 16:37:00 | 49h 15m | Beast Feast | It seemed like a nice game, but I was useless at it, so I didn't get far. I'm just trying to figure out, is it possible to lose?
The graphics were nice, the music was catchy, and the idea was sound. Nice game all in all :D |
| Aug 29 20:30:00 | 3h 53m | Space Mayham | "Gametemplate.exe is not a valid win32 application". On an XP?
I downloaded the "Windows (ZIP)".
Also, it might be more helpful to name the game something other than "no_setup" so that it doesn't get lost in my downloads. |
| Aug 30 19:14:00 | 22h 44m | The Debate | Great for 4 hours' work! And I did like the idea of Evolutionism and Creationism fighting it out in a PONG game. Although, I did notice the lack of functionality to play from the side of Creationism...
And that AI is really hard D: |
| Aug 30 19:56:00 | 42m 00s | Ludum Card Evolution | I love card games, but just couldn't make head nor tail of how to play this. I kept trying, and sort of had an idea by the time I lost, but still wasn't too sure.
The music was good at first, but it got a little repetitive after a while (imho).
I did like the graphics. Kind of programmer-art, but with extra rainbows.
But, the fact that you used things that weren't made during the compo time period and weren't made by you makes this against the rules of the Compo, and needs to be moved to the Jam. Sorry man! |
| Aug 31 20:09:00 | 24h 13m | The house | "You evolved so much that you escaped" :D "Score: 0" D:
I liked this game. The audio was good, the graphics were nice. Sure there were bugs here and there (I walked through the door in the top left, but wasn't tp'd anywhere, so it threw an ArrayIndexOutOfBoundsException...) (the ghosts just... didn't work. I think if they had been omitted altogether then the game would have come off as much more polished, and still just as fun). I did wonder how you collected 'coins'?
Overall, I think it has great potential. I liked the graphics, and the ghost noise was great. Good job! |
| Aug 31 20:25:00 | 16m 00s | SimEvo | I love the idea of this game. And I like the way it was implemented. The pictures were nice, the UI was great.
But (I don't like this bit!) it had some problems:
It froze randomly for me every once in a while... (Windows XP if that makes a difference)
When some body parts were placed on my Ludum Darosaur they were teleported far away from the central "Body" piece.
The select button looked a bit odd.
But, I love the game. I've kept playing it. And I imagine what my animal would look like (with Feathers, Arms, and a Trunk): Perhaps (this is just me dreaming here!) you could add some sort of visual representation of the creature? Just an idea. It would be amazing if it worked.
Also, the fact that you left out the 'F' in 'Of' in the body part names gave it that little bit of humour ;)
Loved the idea, loved the game, love to see it "evolve" into something more (See what I did there?!)
Keep it up! |
| Aug 31 20:33:00 | 8m 00s | 8-Bit Big Bang (that was the origonal name, I never changed it, it was 8-bit) | Really love the idea of this game, and the aesthetic is fantastic. Combined with the great audio, you got that universe-y mood just perfect.
However, my one complaint is that I seemed to be have been unable to shoot. I was right clicking like nobody's business, but nothing was happening...
The highlight was definitely the visuals. Great job! |
| Aug 31 20:44:00 | 11m 00s | Stop Evolution Tower Defense | Haha, loved this. Playing from the opposite side to the evolutionists was a great idea. And it's fun to play! It's also pretty well-balanced, surprisingly so. But by now I have enough units to be pretty much invincible :(
The art was great. I laughed when I saw that you were defending heaven...
Great little game, all in all. Good work! A win-condition might be a valuable addition though (after X number of waves defeated or something would do) |
| Aug 31 20:53:00 | 9m 00s | Assimilation | It's a fantastic looking game. Those 8 character directions really makes the difference. But there was broken English in some of the text (When you looked at the neighbour's door, for instance). That was my only complaint. The shortness? Better really polished but too short than really long but unpolished. And this had polish in bucketloads. I really enjoyed it, and look forward to a full version. (Perhaps it might even be suitable for the October Challenge?) |
| Aug 31 21:05:00 | 12m 00s | The bloody princess of Ludumia | I loved this game. I won after killing 85 Ludumis in 245 seconds :D
I liked the way you could only indirectly influence the reproduction. I ran around killing half my ludumis as soon as some appeared with three bars on their heads. (related: am I the only one who thinks they look a little like toasters?)
The story was great, the art was unique. Frankly, the pictures don't show it off very well. Great job khoa. |
| Sep 2 18:05:00 | 45h 00m | Oneway | I liked this game. Nice audio, really polished feeling, and fairly unique. Got it finished. I liked the visuals too. |
| Sep 3 20:23:00 | 26h 18m | Praepoch | A nice little game. Less fighting and more fleeing, the combat wasn't great. But the animations were fantastic, and the audio was nice too.
It all felt very polished. |
| Sep 16 09:28:00 | 301h 05m | Tiny Evolution Adventure | I couldn't make it through the first level. I felt I had to eat almost everything, as there was no counter to tell me how much I had to eat, so that was a bit irritating. The music was nice in the beginning, but got a little repetitive. I wished for the ability to swim *down* so many times, instead of having to endure the slowness of gravity. |
| Sep 16 09:31:00 | 3m 00s | Evulotion : Adventures of Dyslecsia | It ran fine for me first time. But, alas, I couldn't do anything but sit on the "waiting for players" screen. I therefore can't rate on gameplay, but the graphics and sound are nice. |
| Sep 16 09:51:00 | 20m 00s | Gems of the Evolving Land | I liked the game. It had character, and the graphics weren't bad. It feels well thought-out. I especially enjoyed driving about in the car, but, alas, I ran out of oil fairly quickly.
Overall: nice job, feels very finished! |
| Sep 16 10:04:00 | 13m 00s | Evolution of Man | Interesting idea. I liked the maze game, got through it without incident. But on the platformer, I fell through the floor once, and that led me to fall infinitely. Then, when I played through it again, the game crashed when I reached the flag (Playing on Windows XP. Third time lucky? Nope. It crashed when I reached the flag again. I would love to have been able to play the later games, but I can't :(
On a side note, the controls in the platformer felt a little floaty, and the camera was too zoomed in and scrolled a bit too slowly, especially when you were falling. |
| Sep 17 18:56:00 | 32h 52m | One Last Chance | Interesting concept. Unfortunately it couldn't pick up the accelerometers on my phone (Android 2.2 "Froyo") so I had to play the web version, which was undoubtedly not ideal.

There were a few glitches (Em kept restarting talking to me when she had went to get the drinks, and she was occasionally invisible and/or teleported to next to the fridge.

Also, I picked up the book, and then couldn't put it down anywhere...

But I think this is promising. It wasn't perfect, but it has potential. |
