Hey! I liked the minimal graphics and game play idea. Would have been good if the background scrolled at the same speed as the level to avoid eye strain. I like the fact the game records how far the ship has travelled too. In general I think there's a good concept to iterating/improving here.
Wow, that music - so good!
The game looks and sounds great - overall really good asset polish. Feels like a few things could have been tweaked for better game play, some of the collisions felt a little harsh and sometimes I felt like I didn't have time to react to enemies after entering a new room.
I thought the idea of enemies taking up space when they die was great.
This is fantastic for 48 hours of work. Fun game, music fits the theme and nails the overall jam theme too. Constructively I think the difficulty curve of the levels is a bit steep. The first few introduce new themes nicely and are fun, but the corridor with the mushrooms, slime blocks and switches feels like a bit too much - maybe break it up into smaller puzzles? When I first saw the slime blocks it wasn't immediately clear how they kill you - that could have been telegraphed slightly better. But overall good job!
@mazzletov thanks for the comment! To get the tractor beam to work you need to be the orange ship and be reasonably close to the thing you want to move. It's the same key as the gun or the teleporter, just with a different ship enabled so if those things work then the tractor beam should work too. Let me know how it goes, happy to look into it a bit more if it still doesn't work. Thank again for taking a look!
This is a great concept. The shrinking walls felt really good and the art direction is great, would really benefit from some music but the SFX that exists fit well.
Some constructive feedback: - Sprites are great and the animations are smooth - There needed to be more contrast between the wall and floor tiles - The level felt like it started out too big, if you started with half the size then the shrinking walls would feel more threatening - There needs to be more of a driver for killing the monsters in the waves, either a compelling story reason on mechanic (ideally both)
I really like this game, I think with some polishing you'd have a great indie hit on your hands.
Hey, I ran into the resolution issues mentioned above. Liked the music though! Felt like some kind of tutorial or in game help would have been good too. Cool concept, can see how it could be developed further.
This is really cool. Aside from the awesome quantum stuff the text UI is nice too.
Great music and art, felt like it needed a little tweaking in terms of game play but enjoyed it :)
Fun game! I liked the music and art style. I think some power ups or cool-down abilities would go a long way to extending the game play. Also perhaps some enemy wave mechanics so it doesn't feel quite so random. Overall a fun game and one I replayed a few times to try to get a better score.
