I really like the idea behind this game. I got to around score 1,000 before getting bored. Game kinda stalls after you build 3 of everything. Maybe add more upgrades and increase incoming enemies as time goes on.
Wow. Really amazed by how much work you got done in 48 hrs. I'm struggling to get past more than a few minutes, but hearing people getting to 16+ minutes speaks for strategy possible. The lack of audio threw the mood off a bit especially with all the eldritch horrors and cult imagery (nice textures!).
Also, consider adding an easy mode or some hints for people like me who are pretty horrible at RTS :P.
Game feels nice and polished, though it feels short even for a game jam. Fairly easy game once you understand the rules of the game. Music and graphics were nice and really contributed to a relaxed atmosphere for the game.
Same problems as others with the collisions. Yours is one of the first games I've seen where the theme "Small World" has an actual effect on the game play so cograts. I would recommend making the enemy / object spawn point move with the player so you always have time to react & don't end up getting hit by something that just spawned. Perhaps less random in your RNG.
Just an fyi: Windows 10 download via google chrome failed due to virus detected. Could just be an overactive anti-virus.
@jushiip Thank you! I didn't make this very clear, but the earth is actually orbiting the sun. So unless you try to go towards the sun you are unlikely to ever see it.
@Burgee Thank you! I noticed the sound glitching soon after the deadline and it seems related too the large amount of sounds effects playing at the same time. @drmargarido The missiles not firing "nicely" was supposed to be a feature. Unfortunately I seem to have confused some additions, subtractions, and a rotation or two giving semi-unpredictable missile firing.
Really enjoyed the humor despite its morbidity. My biggest gripe with the game is there simply isn't very much to do and that its very short once you understand the mechanics. I feel like you had a great opportunity to add an mp3 player or a radio to play music.
I had the same problems with exporting from python and funnily enough found the same page you did. Cute game, I enjoyed the concept, art, and music. I had some difficulty adjusting to the moving keys, but that's not really a fault in the game. One problem though, I wasn't able to exit out of the program when I was done playing and had to use task manager.
So, I like the music and the overall ambiance of the game. It took me awhile to figure out what was going on - I don't think the tutorial was here when I began playing. Game was kinda fun, but the lack of tutorial kinda ruined it for me as I spent a lot of time figuring out what I was supposed to be doing. Game crashed when I scrolled to far left.
EDIT: Continued playing, much better when I knew what was going on, but it crashed again. Windows 10 btw.
