Very challenging, but it made we want to keep playing and try again. For improvement, I would suggest decreasing the player's speed.

Thanks for the feedback, glad you liked the game ^^
I just released an update to make the player slower. I actually like it better now, it feels much smoother and more playable this way.

I really like this concept! But perhaps a little too unforgiving with the difficulty? One idea is to make the corridors bigger than the player. That way the player has a little leeway to turn sooner or later and doesn't have to be so pixel perfect with turning. Another idea that might make adding a ghost feasible is simplifying the maze. In combination with the bigger hallways, this would increase the space to move. Maybe make it so ghost can only hurt your head, but if it hits your snake body it would die.

Well, you can hold the arrow key down before you actually reach the turn, so technically you have a minimum of 0.3 seconds to react. I actually used to have a pixel perfect movement detection, but I think it is okay the way it is.
Also, I tried making the spaces wider, but that just lead to completely wrong collision detection, orbs spawning in walls etc.
I will test around with your idea for the ghost though, maybe I can implement it in a way thats not too impossible :D

Really hard, but really addictive ! As chunkybrewster said, it's a bit too unforgiving... It's sometimes really difficult to pass the "stairs" at the top right of the map without dying...

Love the music!
I wish I could make such music, any tips?

Looks and plays really nice, I think it's o.k without ghosts, and once I realized I could press turn sooner and it will not collide with the wall it was easier.
Well done!

Howdy CyberStarLight, thanks for the feedback!

To be honest, the only tip I can give regarding making music is to practice. I personally just tested stuff out and played around with all the fancy sliders and buttons and sometimes it sounded good. Today I would consider myself an okay chiptune composer (However, almost everything above 8-bit is still way beyond my skill ^^), but I would not say that I'm an expert at it.
Also, I tried implementing ghosts in the way chunkybrewster said, but it felt kind of unfitting, so that idea is scrapped I guess. Glad you liked it anyways :3

PS: The howdy at the start was intentional. I am so funny.
