Great mashup! I like the idea of redeeming it through catching it with the paddle. But the ball tends to fall off a lot when I hit it with the paddle though, even when the angle would bounce it in a way which the ball wouldn't eat itself. Something that could help would be having a ghost trail that would show where the ball would bounce when it gets near the paddle (like the aiming dots of puzzle bobble).

I don't know why I didn't think to give the ball a brief period of invincibility after catching it. Sometimes the ball falls off right after catching it, so an invincible timer would fix that.

For other cases, a ghost trail is an interesting idea. I wonder if it would be too distracting. It seems like something that would make a good option. A simpler fix may be to just adjust the math of the paddle. The angle the ball leaves the paddle at is in the range of -60 to 60 degrees, but the smallest possible angle is -20 or 20 (depending on if it is hit on left or right). That means there's a whole sixth of the paddle that will send the ball right back into the snake.

I've never done a MiniLD before. I don't suppose there's a rule against making a couple of adjustments.

Yes, you can add an invincible timer.
You can make any change before the event ends.
After submit stage ends, you may only fix bugs.

Fun game. I too love the idea of combining the two games! Keep up the great work!

Very cool! The game play is very fluent. Nice work!

Great work, it took me time to realize the importance of where on the paddle the ball should hit, but after that the game went more smoothly.

Overall I think it's a good game, looks polished for a 7 day game.
