Not sure if I won or lost but I got credits roll! gg

red-horde-games 2026-04-21 12:55

As for the game, more explanation or tutorial would be cool. Also not sure what player choice is, you just defend or kill and nothing to do after.

It took me a while to understand what are we supposed to do and to realise I can't really succeed perrfectly (I think). It could use some gameplay instructions in the game itself. Other than that, it was fun!

metalim 2026-04-21 13:24

@red-horde-games the third option is: do nothing. That infects the node, but keeps an exploit and gives your more control. Also, difficulty is reduced for Jam

metalim 2026-04-21 13:31

@head-priestess-ari there are 2 endings: "win" and lose. Both are achievable regardless of RNG. Hidden (or "true") ending didn't make it

I like this interpretation of the theme, and it's got a nice setting and lore details attached to the game.

bobanko 2026-04-21 19:53

Interesting concept. Music is also great!

The vibe is great, I didn't understand why I can't do any actions for some nodes. More explanation would be super cool

metalim 2026-04-24 20:11

@petya-with-shu you probably ran out of exploits. Added that to description. But yeah, exploits number definitely needs some visual feedback

dvan1337 2026-04-25 07:39

nice music, simple gameplay (yet a bit confusing at first), but still very good!

yanato 2026-04-25 12:56

Good job! I'd like to see a few more mechanics, maybe even more levels :p

metalim 2026-04-25 13:40

@yanato surprisingly, this one mechanic (defend/destroy/don't do anything) can get you quite far. Originally game was much harder and required a strategy to win.

dennis 2026-04-25 14:43

Interesting concept. The music is great too!

yanato 2026-04-25 15:28

@metalim Yes, you're right. But I thought of a way to clear a node of AI infection or temporarily protect nodes. Anyway, good game and storyline.

creeperxd 2026-04-26 10:32

This is my best result (lowest infection rate) in like less than 10 tries. !>Screenshot 2026-04-26 180324.png

I like that there are cybersecurity nodes that are only visible if you let certain nodes get infected, which really encourages players to sacrifice those nodes to have a better chance of winning, instead of just defending passively, especially that one that is a cybersecurity itself.

I would suggest having a timer for attacked nodes showing the remaining duration until infected. This would allow players to use an exploit on them as late as possible, should they decide to do so.

metalim 2026-04-26 18:47

@creeperxd

"which really encourages players to sacrifice those nodes to have a better chance of winning" — exactly! Thanks for noting that. Pre-release version was harder, and required player to discover that strategy before winning.

"timer for attacked nodes showing the remaining duration until infected" — that's not included intentionally, and also time is random. Think of it as fog of war. :)

The best result you've got is very risky, and could've easily lead to loss, if AI decided to attack cybersecurity nodes. But hey, congrats on getting that one! Win is a win.

oadt 2026-05-01 13:36

Being able to disconnect nodes was an interesting mechanic! I was able to quickly figure out the rules of the game. Maybe some more time to read the logs at the end would have been nice, as it was hard for me to follow up with them during the game  Congrats on your first LD entry!

Music slaps so hard it slapped the slop right out of the MacroFrame, leaving just the frame.

Company names are also top-notch.

It's a cool idea. It went too fast(
