A really unique game that fits the theme well!
An interesting concept, but without any instructions, I couldn’t figure out how to play right away. The music occasionally makes a clicking sound, and I thought it was an enemy indicator. The idea of restricting vertical movement to one direction feels unnecessary. The submarine goes off-screen, and you can’t return until the next turn.
Not a bad game, but changing direction every other turn is a bit weird.
Interesting game design choice. In my opinion, there’s a lack of feedback, which makes it hard to understand what’s going on.
Cool idea for a game, I do think it is a bit easy to just click where the torpedo came from to know where the enemy's submarine is though. I think it'd be interesting if the enemy's submarine moved up/down a bit after they shot (but the game tells you by how far) and as they're not directly on the wall, this'd impact the angle a bit differently (bonus if they can move forwards/backwards too, all this movement would still be off-screen). Something I didn't realise for a few rounds is that you can move up/down on the enemy's turn too. The shooting guide always seems to be set to on at the start of a new round though (even if turned off prior).
I like the idea of the sub and the guessing of where the enemy was. In the beginning I could control where the torpedo hit but, near the end it kept hitting the same spot. I couldn't control where it went. The sounds were creative. I liked how it sounded like a sub find another sub. it was good for a weekend project.
Pretty cool game! Took me a couple goes to realise I could move on the enemy's turn, but I thought the up/down limitation was interesting and the you set a really good atmosphere for the game.
